The EA Partners program grew a bit today with some announcements courtesy of a media event held at EA's Redwood City headquarters today. The publisher will be working with two more teams on two new games.

From the land of smoking at arcades and amazing T-shirts that I'll never fit into comes Grasshopper Manufacture, the studio headed by Suda51 and responsible for games like No More Heroes and Killer7. The game that Grasshopper will do with EA will fall into the action horror genre and already sounds like some kind of crazy all-star team with Suda directing, Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami producing, and Q Entertainment assisting. Suda and Mikami were on-hand at the presentation, but didn't really have much to say beyond the typical "we're happy about this" stuff. The game will be released on the PC, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3.

The second deal announced is with Epic Games. More specifically, the game will come from People Can Fly, the studio responsible for Painkiller, which Epic picked up in 2007. No details on the game were revealed other than that it will be "an all-new action title." It will come to Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3.

I am terrified of any game Suda 51 and Shinji Mikami can make together.

From the 1up interview people seem have picked up that it's either a high school rivalry story with heart, or a rockabilly UFO-themed Brutal Legend. Which one sounds good? YOU DECIDE.

@Snapstacle: If any of that is true, the UFO-themed Brutal Legend sounds like the best kind of existential hell possible.

OK, reality check time. Can anyone tell me if any of this is actually happening? I've got a loose grip on reality after hearing about this upcoming 2D digitized fighting game.
