Infinity Ward Employee Uses Phrase "Modern Warfare 2"

I feel sort of stupid for even writing this story, but hey, it got me excited, so it meets one of my "newsness" requirements.

Here's a quickie from the Twitter feed of Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling, Infinity Ward's director of macking and keeping it real. That... might not be his actual title, I'm not sure.

Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today. “Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.”

Is this what the future is all about? People in-the-know on stuff casually drop game names and such into their social networking thangs and the free world dissects it for a greater meaning? Whatever, I'm not going to analyze it too much. I just perk up any time anyone says anything about the next Call of Duty game.

Now I'm just waiting to hear if the bolt-action rifles will kill Cujo Two-One with one shot if Vulture hits him center mass.

Call of Duty 4 is amazing and all but I'm really starting to get sick of military shooters.... actually, shooters in general. Unless Infinity Ward makes huge leaps (like the improvement from Call of Duty 2 to 4) then I'm not picking it up.

I think it's safe to assume that it will be known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Not Call of Duty 5: Modern Warfare 2.

I don't really care what they call as long as they make Modern Warfare 2 just as amazing as the last one.

Man, the bolt-action rifle center mass phrase is totally the best meme to come out of the bombcast. Better than "Still a threat" methinks.

seriously though, he's right. the single shot guns, mainly that m14, should be a single shot kill gun, especially considering the crazy recoil .

people say Killzone is really hyped up (and it is) but man when the new Call of duty trailer hits and previews start going up. get ready for the atom bomb of hype.

the M14 is a 1 shot kill gun if you use it in Hardcore! =)

I think Modern Warfare 2 is a decent title if they do go for that. Or if they really wanted to explain it could have "Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2: Back to the Future (Of War) 1"

I can't wait for this one, after the colossal dissapointment that was WaW's multiplayer it's nice to play somewhere else other than the streets and countrysides of Germany with better guns.
