Video Game News, Stories and Updates for the PS3, XBOX 360, PC, PSP, Wii, and DS

The original Iron Chef TV show offered one of my earliest glimpses into the relative madness of Japanese pop culture, though I have to admit that Iron Chef America is pretty engaging even without the cross-cultural confusion. There's a new trailer out for the forthcoming Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine for the DS, which looks like a note-for-note knockoff of the Cooking Mama games, though with the added benefit of Mark Dacascos' shrill screaming.

The first  time I ever saw iron chef I did not know it was iron chef.

there is a minigame segment in star ocean 2(AKA secound story) that makes fun of  the japanese version of Iron chef. since we did not get it on our tv  until years later I never new what it was.

But ya ill play this just because  he tells you what to do in that voice.

That voice sure beats Jamie Oliver's mockney whine in his DS cooking game!

Wait... yeah I never played the cooking momma or its anti-thanksgiving PETA version, but... um... as someone who has cooked... that isn't the way you fillet or saute'... just saying... doesn't the DS have a motion sensor available (GBA port right?)?  If you could sautee by actually virtually flip the pan then AWESOME... but if not... these games don't teach people shit to do it realistically.  Sauteing is easy but takes an initial skill so that the crap you flip doesn't end up on the stove.  Get a razor sharp plane of a knife in your hand and lets see how well you chop an onion then?  I bet not maybe on the first, but on the third try you cut off the tip of your index finger.  In real life the best way to learn handling a knife is to cut your finger off a couple times and learn to NEVER DO IT TWICE... I'd like to see the DS do that.  Yeah I'm bitching and ignore me like you were going to any way... but just saying... isn't there actually another game, Ryan covered Chop till you Drop http://www.giantbomb.com/giant-bomb-at-nintendo-2008/17-67/ that seemed a little bit more matter-of-fact cooking that might help people... of course other than that guy from the hotel who had trouble saying "continue"?

OK, reality check time. Can anyone tell me if any of this is actually happening? I've got a loose grip on reality after hearing about this upcoming 2D digitized fighting game.
