Level Cap Increase Coming To Borderlands

Next DLC will increase level cap, is "biggest" addition yet.

TK, pre-zombie.
TK, pre-zombie.
Awesome news for all of you Borderlands junkies out there. Though there aren't any firm details out yet, Gearbox has confirmed on its message boards that the next add-on for the game will include an increase to the level cap. As someone who has been sitting at level 50 for months, I would classify myself as "stoked" about this information.

Here's all that we've got so far:

Sorry, I haven’t gotten to post on the forums in a while! After finalizing Zombies DLC, the team and I began reading the DLC feedback around the forums on the wants and desires. Guess what, level cap increase anyone? Got it and it's awesome. Hopefully we can get a full announcement out to you guys soon but, man is this the biggest DLC we have made. So don’t worry, we are working really hard right now on both the update (that solves a bunch of issues) and the DLC. More to come guys!!

You heard the man, there's "more to come." Guess we'll have to sit on our hands and wait for the full announcement.

Level cap increases are always good, until you spend hours frantically trying to hit it.

Sad and pathetic.

Level caps belong in MMOs and lives belong in Coin-Ops.

hopefully those updates add level progression in the underdome

Dude, yes!

I've played nearly 200 hours of Borderlands now, it's so damn good.

Fuck DLC, I'm done with that game, too many games coming out now. Just get to work on a sequel already damn it

"Level cap increase anyone?"

Sweet, let's hope this one doesn't suck as much cock as the last one.

Lets just say................ I'm not hopeful ;D

Ooo man, while I loved me some Borderlands, getting to level fifty was such a grind, I don't know if I could go back to it.

...? What's wrong with raising the level cap in a game that's based around leveling up?
MrKloroxon Jan. 21, 2010 at 3:20 p.m.
@supermike6: Huh? You misread what I was saying. I'm saying it's stupid to put super low level caps on the game in the first place since it is not an MMO and doesn't require you to pay monthly. Just like how a limited number of lives in videogames doesn't belong unless it is in a coin operated box.

Third DLC pack...increased level cap... Seems they are following a very successful formula. And I'm glad they are!

I hope the DLC that comes with the increase is awesome because I wont buy this just for the increase
jonnyboyon Jan. 21, 2010 at 3:25 p.m.
I played that game to death ( I got 3 LV 50's). But I don't know if I want to buy more single player DLC. The potential for some really great multiplayer has always been possible for this game, ie not just playing the single player campaign together. I'd love to see some proper Mulitplayer DLC that requires you to work as a varied team for specific tasks.

I'm up for an update that fixes stuff, this is full of good news. I give them 2 years for a sequel, so DLC is fine for a while. Heck, it has only been 3 months or so.

I'm interested and if theres new loot.....mmmmmmmm

*sigh*

I haven't even reached level 50 yet, on any of my characters.
