Metal Gear Solid 5 Is Apparently Happening

You cannot stop the unstoppable.

Quick Look: Metal Gear Solid HD Collection

Jeff and Patrick try to hold on to their sanity as they take a high definition tour of Hideo Kojima's mind.

The upcoming issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK will have Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima on the cover, and will apparently reveal his plans for the unannounced Metal Gear Solid 5.

You didn’t really think Kojima would leave the series behind after the last one, did you? C'mon, son.

Konami has not separately confirmed Metal Gear Solid 5, and it’s possible Kojima is hypothetically speaking about a sequel to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Kojima just finished work on Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, has been teasing something new on Kojima Productions' new Fox Engine, and is also overseeing Zone of the Enders HD Collection. Metal Gear Solid: Rising will also be unveiled (again) at Spike TV's Video Game Awards awards next month, a game that he's working on but did not write or direct.

I’ve contacted Konami about today’s news, though I don’t expect to hear much (if anything) back.

I can't wait for more of Kojima's poorly written and poorly edited dialogue.

Poor Kojima. Trapped in an endless cycle of Metal Gear games.

Fuck! I haven't even played Metal Gear Solid 4. When's that 360 port coming? *waits for PS3 fanboys to yell at me, only to realize that this isn't GameSpot*

@MattBodega:

What makes you think he's trapped?

Marzon Nov. 17, 2011 at 1:16 p.m.
it'll probably be a remake of the old games before MGS1.   Zanzibar Land and Outer Heaven here we go again.. am i right!?
DaBuddaDaon Nov. 17, 2011 at 1:17 p.m.

Why is it such a shock that there will be a fifth game in a series? Shit, Call of Duty has had 5 releases in 4 years time since 2007.

Th3_Jameson Nov. 17, 2011 at 1:17 p.m.

I just want to replay MGS3 on 360 after I am done Skyrim completely. I didn't like MGS4 that much, but I will play MGS5.

I wonder what music device snake will use in this one.

Super happy about this. Metal Gear Solid games have been consistently amazing since MGS 3. That includes all the side games especially Portable Ops.

I swear, it makes me think of Chappelle's Show and how unforgettable his content were that fans make it a nightmare to him outside the program.
