Next GTA Expansion Named, Detailed

Get ready to fill the shoes of Luiz Lopez in the next chapter of Grand Theft Auto IV.

Finally, Gay Tony's story can be told.
Finally, Gay Tony's story can be told.
Rockstar has announced a few details on the second downloadable add-on for Grand Theft Auto IV. The  pack, out this fall, will be called The Ballad of Gay Tony. You'll take on the role of Luiz Lopez, a "part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant" to Tony "Gay Tony" Prince, a nightclub impresario in Liberty City. The release goes on to say that the episode will focus on Liberty City's "high-end night life." Both Tony and Luiz appeared in Grand Theft Auto IV in bit parts around the same diamond heist that The Lost appeared in.

The content will be available on the Xbox 360 this fall for 1600 points, or $20. A disc-based version of The Ballad of Gay Tony will also be available alongside The Lost & Damned as "Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City." Episodes will be a standalone product that will sell for $39.99, and, like the downloadable versions, it's announced for release on the Xbox 360.

Wow, Rockstar is really pushing the envelope with this one.  I can't wait to see reception of the public from the first images/videos to release.

Wow, just...wow.

Man, they're really baiting their (largely homophobic) user base.

"Go ahead and download it, I dare ya!"

Seriously though, I'm glad they're showing all of the different subcultures of Liberty City, each will be different from the other by the looks of things.

I hope Rockstar handles this well.  They could really knock it out of the park with the story telling if it's done well.

Huh, interesting name for this one. "The Ballad of Gay Tony" will surely be unnoticed by the general public. And I just love, love, love how Rockstar is always pushing the envelope.

Ballsy move (pun intended)

Not sure about that. I'll probably pick it up anyway though, along with the Lost & Damned
Doubton May 26, 2009 at 1:25 p.m.

It shouldn't make a difference as it's an 18+ (Mature) game, but we all know about the homophobic teens that live on Xbox Live...
Binman88on May 26, 2009 at 1:26 p.m.
Glad to see they're releasing these frequently enough. Pity I only have the PC version.

Also, I thought it said Lulz Lopez when I first saw it.
