Virtual Hasselhoff! Sure, why not?
David Hasselhoff wrote a post for the
official PlayStation blog today, which I have to admit was not something I was prepared to see. Why, pray tell, would the star of such hits as
Nick Fury: Agent of Shield,
Revenge of the Cheerleaders, and
Anaconda III address the PlayStation faithful?
Because he's coming to PAIN as a downloadable character, that's why.
Mr. Hasselhoff will make his debut on "Hoff Day" along with a new movie studio level on Novmeber 6. Oh, they also got him to cover Culture Club's "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" while they were at it. I... don't think I like PAIN enough to get much of a rise out of the actual content, but I will say that the post on the PlayStation Blog is good at...
A) making me feel sorry for David Hasselhoff
B) making me feel old in the process
A and B happen for the same reason, too. The blog post is peppered with links that are designed to fill you in on who the hell David Hasselhoff is/was. Phrases like "I know you’re probably wondering 'What in the KITT am I doing on the PS Blog?'" are already shake-your-head material, but when they go and link "the KITT" to the IMDB page for Knight Rider because no one remembers what the hell Knight Rider is anymore other than a completely terrible new series about a guy and a car, I want to start telling the kids to get off my lawn.
Speaking of you kids, before Knight Rider was a horrible new show, it was a passable old show.
Also, here is David Hasselhoff learning kung fu for an upcoming movie role. As seen on the DAVID HASSELHOFF SOCIAL NETWORK.

Although it will be fun to abuse him in PAIN.

This is truly sad. But I guess he's just happy to get work. Still not enough for me to actually download PAIN, though. Actually, I don't think there's any reason to purchase this game.

But if Sony thinks being old and knowing who "The Hoff" is and where he comes from is going to sell me Pain or the horrible "Hoff" DLC they are sadly mistaken.

The fact he's in PAIN is quite a surprise to me. Im all for it.

I know the Hoff, but I'm 21. I'm always yelling at kids to get out of my store. Can't say lawn cuz I don't have one of those, but boy, I sure would like to!

I am not a big fan of PAIN either and would hate myself if I actually paid money to have this character in the game. The only reason I MIGHT consider doing it is the fact that it would give me great joy to see him put through so much pain. David was perfect for the cheesy-ass role of Michael Knight, but everybody knows that the reason the show was so frickin amazing was KITT. And for those of you that are too young to understand the reference without looking it up, you really missed out.
