Apparently long, uncut videos of hot games' intro cinematics are all the rage lately. Yesterday it was Killzone 2, and today G4 has the exclusive on the opening cinematic for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, a game I am personally all hot and bothered to play.
Note to G4: We're in your web sites, embedding your exclusives.
Thoughts? I totally dig Michelle Forbes (better known as Ensign Ro, Star Trek: The Next Generation) as the tough-as-nails mercenary captain. Also, it's not explicitly stated anywhere that the footage is all rendered in real time, but I'm pretty darn sure it is. You know how Starbreeze rolls. This looks great.
Lastly, note that G4 will show some actual gameplay from Dark Athena on their show tonight at 8pm Eastern time, which is...in about an hour, actually. If I had cable, I'd totally watch that!

Anyway, I never got to play the original XBOX game. I seriously cannot freaking wait to play this!!
... and cable sucks. I wonder when FiOS is coming to the Bay Area?
