On the upside, there's already cosplay out there for this.
Personally, I think it'd be worth it just to see a Lego singer going back-to-back with a Lego guitarist to shout a chorus into the mic. Most of the Rock Band animations and camera angles would probably be really funny to see with Lego dudes. So I guess I'm for it? It'd certainly be a welcome change from the rest of the Lego stuff, anyway. But what music do you associate with Lego? Kids' music, right? As I am not a parent, that sounds decidedly less cool.
Now we just need to wait and see if the anonymous source is right or not. I sent a shout through to the proper channels, which I think will result in a response that sounds like a mash-up of "we do not comment" and "on rumors or speculation."

But dude, I can't imagine them being able to make many varieties of guitars considering they have to be that small. Really, I'm thinking this could be a pretty horrific idea.
Seems like an alright idea. But yeah, the fact that the songs might be from the likes of The Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana and The Naked Brothers Band, ReTarDedFisHy wants to stay the hell away from this game.

Terrible idea Rock Band is behind Guitar Hero in sales and I doubt Lego is going to fix that
It would definitely be interesting to see what a LEGO Rock Band game would look like.

Be interesting to see how they incorporate a building mechanic into the game. I'd love to see you gain and lose parts as you do better or worse. So if you really suck, the stage set is wrecked into Lego pieces and your band is falling apart. Could be amusing.

I assume the next step after this is Lego RE-Mix... meaning that you get a legoized turn-table and beat box out some lego tunes... Ltunes!
