Hands up, who likes popcorn??
Hands up, who likes popcorn??
Snoop Dogg has partnered up with MTV for a multimedia deal that will cover all kinds of different products. Primarily, his next album, Malice in Wonderland, will be released through MTV. He'll also get his own new variety talk show, Dogg After Dark, which begins its run next week and will produce a whopping seven installments. Man, seven weeks? It's like he's going after Law & Order or WWE Raw or something in an attempt to have the longest-running show in the history of television. Anyway, on that show, he'll be backed up by his live band, the Snoopadelics.

The Rock Band tie-in is really only a blip in release. Here's the relevant portion:
In addition, songs from Snoop Dogg’s impressive catalogue of hits will be released on MTV’s hot-selling Rock Band® music video game platform.
Back catalog hits from Snoop could be a fun addition to the game, but probably only if you're rapping. Of course, the versions of his classics that he's done with his live backing band might provide slightly better fodder for the Rock Band experience. We'll have to wait and see what The Doggfather does next, I guess. I bet it rhymes with "smoking marijuana."

Sucks, Snoop has 2 good songs in 20 years, both produced (i.e. music created by) Dr. Dre.  W/o Dre Snoop is just a younger flava flav

Sweet Rapping would be cool, but I dont know how well it would fit into the Rock Band feel, they need to include a Snoop Character in there, and more hip hop artists.  The afro guy in the game sure dont look gangsta.  I think hits like the Next Episode, Aint no Fun and Bitch Please 1 and 2 would be great, but those include other artists.  Man Aint no fun is just the best song to sing to a girl.

With so much drama in the DLC, kinda hard to believe it's Snoop D-o-double g.

Then again...maybe not. Flo Rida and T-Pain are in GHWT.

I don't enjoy rap at all (which I guess is a nice way of saying I hate it) but I'm all for all music styles to be included in these games. I love rock band and I pretty much only play the classic rock and metal songs in it, but there's no problem with there being some country or rap in the catalogue. It just widens the audience.

Wow another craptastic idea from snoop dog.  It doesn't surprise me that he wants to put his name on a product of mtv.  He is runnin out of ideas and its sad.  I thought he already had a talk show of some sort that was on mtv late nights about 2-3 yrs ago and it was called "snoopvision" or some shit like that.

He isn't really running out of anything. He just wants *more*. Specifically, more money.

Um...I guess this is sort of cool because it is rap and all, but that doesn't mean I am going to buy it. In fact, I won't.

I am very supprised about all the hate people giving to this idea. Did you really think there wasnt going to eventually be rap songs in Rock Band? there already were: MC Frontalot, and while His Frontatude is very hard to keep up with lyrically it is still a fun song to sing. I think Snoop and other rap songs are good, it expands the massive catalogue,  but i do think that it will be light on "other band members"(just a basist and a drummer in most cases). But i do think there is room for Rap that uses a full band, Jay-Z has used guitar in many songs, as have Wu-Tang, and lets not forget The Roots. Though Honestly, as a fan of rap(obviously) i think it is time for a more "rap centered" rhythm game(in the vein of that horrid ps2 game, what was it called? "Get On Da Mic"?), although the main fault in the idea is that it is near impossible to make sure someone is saying the right words.
