Giant Bomb Video Game News

Video Game News, Stories and Updates for the PS3, XBOX 360, PC, PSP, Wii, and DS

Added by Jeff Gerstmann on Jan. 9, 2009

Sony's official blog tossed up this nice interview with Sucker Punch's Brian Fleming on the subject of inFamous. Specifically, they detail some new story stuff, show off some gameplay footage, and even talk a bit about how the presentation Fleming gave during the show was tailored for CES's more mainstream tech audience. They even briefly touch on Sly Cooper. It's interesting on all levels, so check it out:

Yes, inFamous is continuing to look pretty hot. And Jeff Rubenstein is absolutely right... that shock-powered dive-bomb ground stomp thing looks like a lot of fun. Check out some more of the game in motion with this just-released trailer:

Spring I think.

Jeff please could you hit them up with an exclusive interview and ask them why I'm not excited for this game. Thanks.

I'm not going to lie, that game is looking pretty legit. Still, it's all about Prototype! :D

To be honest, aside from the power dive and the lightning grenades, it's looking kind of boring. it's like all the cool super powers were taken so this guy has the power of massive static electricity. I also agree, prototype is looking more appealing.

I dunno. It looks like something I should be excited about, but the gameplay leaves me feeling underwhelmed. To me the biggest issue seems to be that your attacks don't do very much damage to the bad guys. It seems like you need to shock the living bejesus out of a guy to make him stay down.

This is looking to stomp Prototype.

I personally think that Prototype shows better but this looks more polished and could be funner to play.

Infamous may look good but seems to me that this shoking gameplay will get boring very fast, the plot looks a bit weak and like the dude in the vid said this game is all about running around exploring the environment and if that is really true i'm afraid Infamous won't so famous after all.

Man I can't wait. I love Sucker Punch for making one of my favorite series of all time, Sly Cooper. Day one purchase for me.

DEFINATLY looks way better than prototype.

This game looks good. But if you have seen any other videos, they've been very tight lipped about the details. But everytime they say something new its really interesting and cool.
All things aside, this will definitely be better than prototype, that game looked very gimmicky.

This game looks electrifying.

Shocking, even.  I watched the video, and it was like I was simultaneously given a jolt or a zap.  This kind of current feels like greased lightning!

At first I was thinking "this looks a lot like a super hero version of Uncharted", but it moves faster and those last few moments of the vid are raw-some!

Consider my interest peaked.

So far, I have zero interest in this game and the other game that is impossible to differentiate from it. I constantly get Prototype and Infamous confused for one another. Another thing they both have in common is they will not live up to the hype and they'll end up in the bargain bin Haze-style. I can not tell you how uninspired I am by these two titles.

the energy grenade things look like they bounce too far off the ground, they were bouncing past the enemies and no doing much damage when they exploded. (1:45 in the video)
