Box art for games that don't come in boxes!
Capcom got all up on the official PlayStation blog this morning with one of the last bits of relevant info on the upcoming 2D action fighting tour de force, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
The game will hit the PlayStation 3 on November 25, a full day earlier than the Xbox 360 version. It'll run $14.99 on the PS3. Since this info was revealed on the Sony blog, they didn't post what it'll cost on Xbox Live Arcade, but 15 bones translates to 1,200 Microsoft bits. Also, it's confirmed that the game won't have trophy support at launch.
A Tuesday release for a PlayStation Network game is pretty out of the ordinary. Normally this stuff gets posted on Thursdays, but I'd imagine no one wanted to come in on Thanksgiving and flip the MAKE GAME GO switch. Still, posting stuff ahead of Microsoft is a pretty good look for Sony. Maybe they should stick to Tuesdays going forward?
In addition to the game, the PlayStation Network will also receive a free, exclusive soundtrack download. This "Street Fighter Underground Remix Soundtrack" is apparently comprised of original songs that were inspired by the Street Fighter series. Artists on the soundtrack include Redman, Hieroglyphics, DJ Qbert, DJ Toure, Zion I, Mistah F.A.B. and Oh No. That already sounds like a great idea.
Over on the 360 side of things, there will be a Street Fighter themed deck download for Uno. I envision a world where draw four cards are accompanied by dragon punch noises. The deck will be released on December 10.
I have to say, it's impressive to see Capcom really going all out with a lot of different reminders about the world of Street Fighter as it prepares to release Street Fighter IV early next year. It's smart, too, as there are probably a lot of people out there with fond memories of the classics that need these sorts of reminders to get ready for February.

But $15 bucks is a lot to ask if you ask me.
Especially considering I paid $15 for Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Braid.

Shame about the trophies though. I'd hope for a patch but... well we still haven't seen that Bionic Commando Rearmed patch have we ;)
EDIT: Without being an awfully horrible troll but are people going to get this for the 360 - what with the D-pad and all?

And that "do want" is valid for everything in this article, the game, the UNO deck and the soundtrack. Especially that soundtrack. Mistah F.A.B. and Redman on the same album? Yes please.

I imagine that this means a PSP release is coming soon?

If there is just one thing I am slightly disappointed about, it's the lack of a digital Street Fighter Udon comic that could have been brought over to the PSP. I had hoped for one.
Anyway this is all good none the less, great fan service, which is what this should be all about.

I really don't think that's possible due to technical reasons. The reason Bionic had the option was because of the type of visuals. Condensing this, a HD game, onto a tiny screen will cause issues, even more so with the new PSP display quirks.
I think a dedicated version is more likely, if they do I hope they release it with a thumb pad, even though I already have a third party one. I always wanted the one they put out with SFA3 max in Japan. That game sold well in all regions, despite it's bad default control. Capcom must know it's very popular among fans, hopefully enough to prompt them to bring this over. It's high time the PSP got another good SF game.
EDIT:
In theory they could attach dedicated PSP code and make it happen, but you would think they would rather create a dedicated game and experience for PSP owners.

At least there's one Japanese publisher that doesn't see downloadable content as a means to rape their customers (*cough*NamcoBandai*cough*) and has no problem giving a little something for free every once and a while.
