Please cut my head off!
Last time LucasArts dropped some downloadable content for The Force Unleashed--and it wasn't that long ago, let's be honest--all we got was a stack of new costumes to slap onto your Force-wielding badass. Kind of a hard sell at $5, or the Microsoft equivalent, especially if you finished the game beforehand.

As of today, there's some honest-to-goodness new Force Unleashed content to play through (and I think we've all heard by now that content is king). It's a whole new level set in the Jedi Temple on capital world Coruscant, where you as the apprentice are looking to find out more about your father, and "confront demons" in the process. By demons, they might mean stormtroopers.

You may download the pack for $9.99 on the PlayStation Network or 800 MS points on XBL Marketplace. LucasArts did ya a solid by throwing in a bunch of freebie costumes in with this pack.

  • Apprentice's Temple Exploration Gear
  • Apprentice - Cybernetic Reconstruction
  • Apprentice's Sith Training Gear
  • Mace Windu
  • Darth Maul
  • Qui-Gon Jinn
  • Dark Stalker
  • Lightsaber Training Droid
  • Combat Training Droid

Some decent ones in there. They also put out another $5/400-point costume pack with the following (the ones you really want).

  • Apprentice’s Utility Combat Suit
  • Apprentice – Animated
  • Spirit Apprentice
  • Republic Trooper
  • Luke Skywalker – Tatooine Gear
  • Ben Kenobi
  • Plo Koon
  • Count Dooku
  • Jango Fett
  • C-3P0

I almost want to pony up to play as C-3P0. Almost.

So why didn't they include all this stuff with the original game?

so they can suck more money out of you?

Waterglass: Yeah, but then again, no one is forcing you to pay them anything.

Because Publishers don't give a shit anymore and only seek to profit off us?

I'd buy this if you could play as Chuck Norris or some other non-Star Wars character. Maybe Captain Picard or Dr. House?

This does not change the fact that most people who care about this are already done playing it.

This should all be free to make up for the piece of shit that this game is.

DUDE Mace Windu. Does the lightsaber turn purple?

edit: Holy poop there's screenshots, and it DOES! I'll buy this game now when it's a bit cheaper ;)

Can't wait, but that is expensive.

I don't know why but my favorite DLC or unlockables have always been alternate costumes. I'll be getting these ASAP.

I wanted to be charged two months after the game's release for a level that was already developed and should have already been in the game?

Letting you play as C-3PO almost just made me go buy this game.

YEAH, ALL THESE EXTRAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

I'M TIRED OF ALL THIS 'EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOADS' JUST HAVE IT IN THE GAME

I'm about as die-hard a Star Wars fan as the next guy, but I can't see getting all worked up over a couple of skins for the game. Not that I didn't find Force Unleashed enjoyable (I did), but not all downloadable content is created equal.

Can't actually say I wanted any Force Unleashed DLC at all.

This is the problem with DLC, developers know the less amount of content they can put out at launch, the more they will sell in DLC, they probably had all this developed from the start and just decided not to include it so they could get every last drop of money out of this game.
