The Mighty Goro, Actual Size

Who's the big guy now!?!

This komes kourtesy of Mortal Kombat ko-kreator Ed Boon. According to the tweet this accompanied, what you're looking at is the stop-motion rig used to capture the various frames of animation used for Goro in the original Mortal Kombat. It's pretty incredible to realize just how teensy that model was, as well as how much the game development process has changed since then.

I love that it looks like a Junior High science fair project.  Either that, or the sequel to Weird Science.

It keeps moving dammit, "put tape on it". The light's not high enough, "books and that cookie jar thing... do it... tape it down".

ZeroCaston June 20, 2009 at 3:16 p.m.
Look at that, just look at it, doesn't that deserve to be in some kind of a Museum of Games?

Time is moving rapidly people and we got to do something to preserve our gaming past.

I new it was made like that, but not that small.

Dig Deeper into Goro

Goro was introduced in the first Mortal Kombat game as the sub-boss, where he was notoriously difficult to defeat. More than two thousand years old, he is the Prince of the Shokan race, hailing from the Kuatan realm of Outworld. As a General in the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn's militia, he fights for the pride and glory of his people.
