Watch BioShock 2 In Action. Right Now!

GameTrailers has the first footage of 2K Marin's anticipated sequel under the sea.

Not much to comment on here. GameTrailers got the exclusive on the first gameplay footage from BioShock 2, so watch the video below, or hit the High Def link in the player to head over to their site and look at a bigger, prettier version.

Truthfully, I'm refraining from saying much here because we got a look at BioShock 2 ourselves recently and are under obligation not to discuss it just yet. So, hey, what do you think about this footage?

It looks a lot like Bioshock.
BiffMcBlumpkinon April 10, 2009 at 11:09 a.m.
If GiantBomb were BioShock Ryan and Jeff would be Big Daddies and Vinny and Brad would be Little Sisters.

Looks pretty cool... Not as excited to play the game as the first though.
Captain_Soupon April 10, 2009 at 11:11 a.m.
I don't know what I was expecting, but the footage looks so similar to Bioshock 1 that I am less excited now then before I watched the footage.

Looks sweet!

Looks great.

Got a bad feeling it's gonna suck.
TheMustacheHeroon April 10, 2009 at 11:13 a.m.
Actually it makes no sense. Why does he have a drill and a gun on the same arm?
LiveOrDie1212on April 10, 2009 at 11:13 a.m.
ummm....looks like Bioshock 1. to me, Bioshock 1 wasn't that fun to play with. so, whateves.
lolwoton April 10, 2009 at 11:13 a.m.
Are you allowed to say when you could discuss the things you've seen?
More pertinent to the video, I wish they would've shown something more substantial in this first gameplay video. And I was wondering, why is it that the audio diary pickup sound played when the player was contacted by Tenenbaum? One other thing I noticed is that a theme from the original game was used in the second clip.
Also, I'm sick of "GT WORLD EXCLUSIVES". I want to see this trailer on my big HDTV, not my computer monitor. I want to download it on XBLM. Well, enough complaining though. This looks great, and I can't wait to see more.

while i feel the sequel is kinda forced, i must say that those underwater effects are pretty awesome.
YoungDetectiveon April 10, 2009 at 11:16 a.m.
I'm pretty sure the graffiti on the wall says "We will be reborn in the womb of the ocean." Right?

It looks cool, like the audio at the end. Officially hyped. :D

Do you guys have to support GameTrailers? le sigh. Compressed, shit quality put up by a bung of idiots obsessed with the female body.
You guys better have a quick look for this game when its release comes up! And it better be like, an hour long. Looks so kick ass, but I hope they make the drill melee more then just a punch. I want gore, I want drilling, I want bad ass chainsaw equivalince!

And JESUS. the underwater part looks incredible. If this game doesn't have like, characters actually getting wet (ie Drakes Fortune) and geometric, dynamic water surfaces. The first game had great water, but it wasn't dynamic or anything.

ParanoidFreakon April 10, 2009 at 11:21 a.m.
I looks EXACTLY like the first Bioshock, hopefully this isn't just a rushed sequel. I mean, come on, at least try to make the game look a little better.
HatKingon April 10, 2009 at 11:22 a.m.
It looks like Bioshock(1) minus the awesome story and cool effects of having bees come straight out of your arm.  Seriously Bioshock might be my favorite game of all time but this just doesn't look that great.  This seems like some stupid idea a little kid had after playing Bioshock for ten minutes.  I hope I'm wrong.
Tuffgongon April 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m.
I kinda don't want to go back to Rapture.  I loved Bioshock but I feel like to see the same setting again will make it get older a bit quicker.

However if they address enough little stuff, and overall just improve the feel of the shooting (which I can even see from the trailer), then I'm all for it.  I feel like they could take the concept further and if the setting is the thing that stays the same, fine with me.

Dig Deeper into BioShock 2

Awoken ten years after the events of the first game, you must unravel the mystery behind the Big Sisters and your own past in the ruined underwater city of Rapture.

US Release Date: Feb. 9, 2010
