Watch Hideki Kamiya Talkin' Bayonetta

Japanese developers have embraced the utility of the Internet with varying degrees of speed, and in a relative sense, I have to say the former Capcom / Clover Studio people who went on to form PlatinumGames are on the bleeding edge of reaching out to their audience over this wonderful network of tubes we have here. They've got a serious, in-depth blog going with lots of behind-the-scenes looks at the development of games like MadWorld, Infinite Space, and Bayonetta.

Regarding the latter, check out the latest installment of Platinum's own PGTV video series, in which director Hideki Kamiya talks at great length about "infinite climax action" game starring everyone's favorite eponymous witchy-librarian-with-guns-strapped-to-her-feet.

This is the kind of behind-the-scenes information you don't find just anywhere. Platinum has really thrown open the kimono here; I'll just let this shot from a piece on Bayonetta's modeling and animation do the rest of the talking.

this game looks really lame. the character is lame, the gameplay looks boring as piss, and these guys are taking it way too seriously.

damnit is that woman supposed to be sexy? she is so long and lanky and disgusting looking. i wouldn't touch that with a 50 foot pole. nasty.

Edit: I've rethought my anti-Bayonetta life. After watching this candid " trailer 'splaining " session, I'm looking forward to this game. Looks like a breath of fresh air to that God of War /Devil May Cry genre.

This is pretty awesome news, since I just saw that "screenshot" I immediately recognized the guy who did write the whole article. I mean Brad. :P

When you have a female character taking up the main role, that's simply a great thing, especially talking about Bayonetta. She's so feminine, attractive, yet dangerous and very well designed with personality.

Bayonetta is truly an eye-catching character, and I look forward to looking at her throughout the action. I can't wait to play with Bayonetta!

Overall, this game looks better than any other Devil May Cry game, much better, I'd say.
