Watch This Riddick: Dark Athena Trailer Now

Pardon the double-dipped post, but you really ought to check this video out.

We've already updated yesterday's Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena preview, but I wanted to make sure you didn't miss this trailer for the game Atari has since released. It looks to be about 90 percent composed of footage from the Dark Athena half, with a little of the improved Butcher Bay thrown in there for good measure. Shows off a ton of the action. Looks good, eh? Looks rude.

OK, I'll vow now to stop gushing about this game until they release more material to discuss. Watch!

I'm so happy I could cry.  Its good to see, well, hear Diesel back in his only really good role.  Makes me wanna shave my head, put on dark sunglasses, and walk around grumbling at people who look at me funny.

Meh.

Butcher Bay was awesome, but this trailer doesn't set my crotch on fire.

I couldn't tell which one was which, but it was all cool nonetheless.

Very cinematic. Nice! I still remember escaping the first part of the prison and going in the sewer maze with all those mutants. Scared the hell out of me!

This looks crazy awesome.
ImperiousRixon Dec. 3, 2008 at 3:21 p.m.

Why Diesel doesn't just quit the acting gig and star exclusively in video games is beyond me.
Riddick is back WITH A VENGEANCE!

Dude, yes.

That's all I have to say on this subject. Nay, that's all I can accurately vocalize without any excited, however incoherent, blubbering.

That syringe in the neck thing makes me squirm every time. Even so, I think I'm gonna have to play it this time around.
ZeroCaston Dec. 3, 2008 at 3:51 p.m.

Did I just see PC-DVD ROM at the end?  THANK GOD.  Super psyched for this now, The PC Version of Butcher Bay was amazing.
yellownumber5on Dec. 3, 2008 at 5:53 p.m.
I think i've watched this about 6 or 7 times now.  I wanna pick this apart frame by frame if I could.  I wonder with the new blades when it shows him sliding down a wall if thats a cinematic sequence or if it will be gameplay.  This and the shape of the ship suggest there is going to be a lot of verticality in the game.  That glazed excessive normal mapping feels kind of old like how lightbloom got overused back in the day, but still it fit the style and nostalgia of the original so much I'd mis it if its gone.  The lighting and shadows have always been phenominal in this game and looks so pretty now.  Need more HD screenshots.
