How come Nintendo get away with having consoles tethered to women at E3/DS on location events and parade women when delivering consoles without sexism claims? Coming from a company claiming to expand the gaming demographics this is pathetic.

48 Hours With Nintendo 3DS
" So one of the 3DS girls comes with my Amazon pre-order, right? :D But seriously, that's just a disgusting thing to do and totally out of character for Nintendo. "What's disgusting about it? It's silly, more than anything else. Heck, I think Nintendo delivered Wiis to reviewers in an ice cream truck. It's not like Nintendo was bringing in models dressed like Peach, Zelda, Daisy and Samus and offering to let the GB staff sleep with them.
. . . .
I'd probably take the girls over the system and its games at this point. If/when they make a 3DS GTA or Saints Row game then I'll pick it up. Or if Ghost Trick came out in 3D, that would be awesome. Its the only DS game I own anymore.
" @WinterSnowblind: PSP only allowed WPA connections in one of its more recent updates . . . . I'd probably take the girls over the system and its games at this point. If/when they make a 3DS GTA or Saints Row game then I'll pick it up. Or if Ghost Trick came out in 3D, that would be awesome. Its the only DS game I own anymore. "There's actually a 3DS Saints Row in the works.
Just bought two DSi for my kids. They are too young to use the 3DS, one being too young that she falls under the "Children under 7 shouldn't use the 3D." I'm sure the system is great, but I'll wait for new reiterations of the 3DS and a bigger library. That and it is hard to trust my older daughter who is 7 with a $250 dollar piece of tech.
I was pretty skeptical, but the preview has really made me want a 3DS now, and I'm not exactly sure why. There's not really games I'm interested in, especially since I already have SSFIV, but something seems really appealing. I'll see how the software line-up goes and maybe wait for a price drop/holiday bundles.
Either that, or see how the NGP turns out.
It sounds cool, but I think I'll be waiting for a while before I pick one up. I love Nintendo handhelds, but there really aren't any games that are piquing my interest and the battery life is a pretty big issue for me. Also, I haven't picked up my DS in a very very long time.
If anything, the Xperia Play interests me the most because I have my phone on me at all times, so having that with me as well would be cool, but the tech specs on the thing aren't great and the fact that all Sony has said about it so far is that you can play PS1 games on has me doubting it too.
I was wondering wether you folks at GB have tested wether the backwards compatability is still region-free.
They tested on 1UP ( http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/33122 ) wether a Japanese 3DS could play US games, which unfortunately it can't.
Apparently the 3DS is backwards compatible, but since my DS library is a mixed batch of US and Euro releases I really hope that the 3DS has no problem with old DS games, region-wise.
They do have some nice trade-in discount things around here, but if I can't (re-play) half my games it wouldn't be worth the cash.
For those so interested; Apparently regions are no problem with the backwards compatibility.

So even if the 3DS games still lock to regions you should apparently have no problem with your 'old' library of mixed DS games.
"
- Are DS titles region locked?
Although Nintendo 3DS titles are region-locked, Nintendo DS games are not. We tested this with the Japanese version of Phoenix Wright: Trials & Tribulations and the U.S. version of Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Professor Layton and The Diabolical Box."
Its all sounding pretty good so far, and I dunno about anybody else but I like how you can hit the home key and take notes mid game. This is handy for RPGs..i dunno how many times i've tried to remember something about a location or whatever only to forget once i actually had time to do something about it. But i mean...its the DS...there prob won't be many RPGs developed for it. #sarcasticface!
" I couldn't be more unintrested in the 3DS. "you could have been so not interested that you didn't come to this story at all
I have a 3DS pre-ordred. I'm sure it will be a strong system like the original DS, but the launch line-up does seem pretty weak. I've played Nintendogs, SFIV, the Sims, Monkeyball, Rayman. None of these seem very "new" or "different". Then again, not all reviews are out yet. I'll probably just pick up the Tom Clancy game because I'm a fan of turn based strategy, but I think the first game I'll be looking forward to is the new Professor Layton.
I'd be curious to get an updated "240 Hours With Nintendo 3DS".
Is it still being played non-stop, amazing all who cross it's path?
Or has it moved onto the dust collection testing phase now?
