Nintendo Dates And Prices The Nintendo 3DS
" @G3RHRT: Yeah but he can buy US games, they will be cheaper as well. "Until you hit the import tarrif limit. Should have considered that
I'll wait for the next version.
I just want to know it it will be $250 here in Canada as-well. With every other piece of game hardware we have to pay a $50 mark-up. And as much as I want a 3DS I'm not paying $300 for one plus games.
Gonna wait until xmas or later. 220 in UK, not agreat launch lineup and tbh i ratehr spend my money on games coming out this year than a new handheld.
US price: $250
UK price: £220
... No.
I don't give a shit about most of the features (I'm thinking about you 3D!) and I also hate feeling like I'm being ripped off. I have no attachment to any of the old games they're remaking/updating for the system so I can quite happily say that dodgy pricing is more than enough to put me off buying it.
I think I'll join the growing group of people planning to ignore it until games I care about are released, they release a newer version of it or they lower the price. I wonder which one of those two will happen first ...
Interesting, but I'm not interested at that price point for a handheld that doesn't make and receive calls/do much beyond play games.
So, all the launch titles are crapastic games that no one cares of? No real ground-setting launch title like half of the consoles get on the release date? Right.
I only care about the Resident Evil title. No, not the Mercenaries rip-off one, the one with the actual storyline and gameplay to it.
...Wait this is thing is region locked? I haven't been keeping up with the 3DS (and not really planning on getting one at launch) but, that kinda nails it dead in the water (for me at least)." The fact they aren't making it widely known that it's region locked is a little shady. "
I'm with all the people who have said that they'll wait. The only two titles that I care about are Zelda and Kid Icarus, and they won't be ready at launch. Plus, it's $250 for just the system and $40 for each of the games. Not spending that kind of money. Sure I could just use my DS games for a while, but another con is that the screens on the 3DS are smaller than my DSi XL. I'll just wait for a redesign that's less clunky and with larger screens thank-you very much.
I just want to support good 3D at this point. I'm also super happy that it's $250, so I might actually get it for my birthday. A lot of the launch lineup looks pretty slick too. Kid Icarus, Zelda, Star Fox, Mario Kart, AND Paper Mario all seem interesting. I'm actually kind of happy that they might not make the initial launch so that we can wait for some reviews before immediately getting games.
I just feel $250 is way too much for a dedicated handheld these days when I can get an iPod Touch for $200. I suppose I am not the target audience because what I really want is quick games, not full depth ones on a handheld, but who is going to buy their eight year old a $250 device?
" @Hailinel: Not the corect reply i know but what are the tweaks exactly? If its just swipe the screen to attack i couldnt care less. "One example cited during E3 was making it easier to toggle the iron boots on and off in order to ease the pain that is the water temple.
Awesome, I knew I hadn't seen the software lineup anywhere else.
All I'm hoping for is that Star Fox 64 3D's voice acting is the same as the original 64 version. :)
I'm totally getting this on day one. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked? Super Monkey Ball 3D? That's already an incredible software launch window.
eh im of the wait for the better version mentality. I want a bigger screen then the one on the launch model. Also longer battery would be nice. Will defenitly get one if this change . And @Hailine
if what you say about the changes is true that does sound like a worthy change. Nothing too major tough. I allready have 3 versions of Ocarina of time. Dont know if i need this version really.
I love everyone saying they won't get one... pretty much guarantees the thing will sell out everywhere, be in extremely tight supply for months and be a huge success. Kinda like the Kinect.
i preordered mine already, but i'm concerned about the lack of quality titles at launch. had narrowed it down to 3 (paper mario, MGS3:snake eater, kid icarus), but now it seems that none of them will be launch titles like giant bomb said they would be yesterday :(.
i really could care less about all the n64 remakes being sold at full price (only difference being 3d, which sony does w/ a patch on ps3). that, and now i realize that kid icarus doesn't allow you to change the awful controls on it (and it'll probably be a 4 hour long game w/ no replay value). what's the point of the wifi/hotspot ability if none of the sports & fighting games even have multiplayer? so much more venting to do, but i'll stop.
i may just end up selling mine for more than i bought it for if no games i care for are coming out until 6-8 months after it releases. by that time i should be able to get another one (and maybe the internet browser & eShop will be available by then).
holy freaking crap. the 3ds will have games that cost 40 and 50 dollars. how can they cost the same as a console game.
