Pikachu Edition 3DS XL

Nintendo of Europe have announced the release of this XL in Europe - Nintendo Direct 04/10/12 http://www.ustream.tv/NintendoUK

Nintendo has revealed a limited edition Pikachu 3DS XL. The new system is announced for Japan only and will cost ¥18,900, it will be available for pick-up on September 15th exclusively for those who pre-ordered at the Pokemon Centre in Tokyo from August 25th to September 14th. As is always the case with rare items in the making, expect these machines to be obtainable via online importers at higher costs.

Its head is too round!

Still prefer the purple Majora Mask's one myself!

I still like the simple, understated DS Lite Pikachu Edition better.

And I really wish the whole system was yellow. Also, if the 3DS cameras were a little lower, they would be Pikachu nipples.

But I'd still buy it. For some reason, Nintendo's Pokemon themed consoles have always drawn me in. Too bad it will never be obtainable for anyone without heaps of money to pay off the Ebay scalpers.

Ahhh, this brings back memories of my Pikachu Nintendo 64, which I have to say looked a lot better than this 3ds. From that picture it looks like the rest of the console is white, which just looks wrong.

I have one of those, I bought mine relatively cheap because it had huge scratch on the touch screen, some kid had taken scissors to it :/ I bought a replacement screen and it looks fine now.

I much prefer this Pikachu design to the one they use in the anime.

I'd love a yellow 3DS, I'd probably buy this if they released it over here. I'd buy a purple one too, of course.

I kinda wish I'd jumped on one back around release even at the slightly inflated price. Now all you find are one of the many knock-off cases floating around on Ebay.

The only other limited edition DS which caught my eye was the Pokemon Black and White limited edition.

The Pikachu Gameboy Advance SP was the best. I'm not feeling the Pikachu 3DS.

Well I'm getting one, I think it's crazy cute. I want an XL but have been put off by the designs so far. I need to trade-in my current 3DS though.

Oh man, that may just be runner up to the DS Lite one! If only the face was upside-down so that it would show to everyone else while you were using it.
