R there any good games for the 3DS? I'm thinking about buying 1

#1 Posted by jNerd (2008 posts) -

I just don't want to waste my $ on the 3DS & let it gain dust.

Someone is offering to sell me a black 3Ds for $225.
Ideas & advice!

There are no Great games for the 3DS, there all either good or average or crap, however there are a few great games "Street Fighter and Lego Star Wars". But the problem is those games are done better on other platforms

While there aren't any must have titles out currently, there are a few on the horizon such as Devil Survivor Overclocked, Cave Story 3D and Bit.trip saga, all coming this summer.  Also, a lot of ports of old games :/

I really want to like the 3DS.... Nintendo's just making it hard.

SSFIV and that Ghost Recon game are ace.

I really don't think it is worth buying just yet. I can't give you a reason not to get it, but I can't in all honesty tell you that it is worth picking up at the moment. Personally, I'm going to wait until it has more games that I'm interested in. If I bought it now I'd play it for a couple of weeks before setting it down so it could collect dust.

 Kinda quiet at the moment, but games keep getting announced.

Having bought a 3DS on day one, I'd say wait until this summer. I haven't picked up the thing in about 2 weeks now and the main game I was playing was Pokemon Black anyway.

What?

Pilotwings Resort is rad. I'm having a lot of fun with that.

I also have Super Monkey Ball 3D, which is also pretty damn good, but it's kinda easy.

And of course there's Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, which I've played and is great if you're into fighting games at all.

Just wait for the Mario game. That's supposed to come out this year apparently.

It's your most anticipated 3DS game, remember?

SSFIV is good, I will probably get OoT just because I want to play it in bed, and will get Cave Story.

Funny that all of those games i've already played. Other than those games IDK what I will get for my 3DS. I don't really know whats coming out, I bought it just for the hell of it.

@LordAndrew

No, I don't remember that, and I remember a lot of things. Do I need to tell you where this statement is going?

Nothing great now, but Ocarina of Time 3D, Super Mario 3DS, and Mario Kart 3DS are coming this year.

If its anything like the Gameboy/GBA/DS, you might want to wait a while for better games and a better model

Not alot right now...  SSF4, Ghost Recon...  those are about it right now.

There's a lot of cool stuff coming within the year, so I mean...  consider getting one sometime soon.  Just not right now.

There are better versions of all these games on other systems.  Including Pilot Wings, which is essentially a supped up version of one of the minigames in Wii Sports Resort.
I regret picking one up at launch..  There's Zelda next month, if that really interests you enough.  Otherwise wait for Mario, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, etc.

Oh come on now.  We all know there are better versions on other consoles.  These examples are games that show off what the 3DS can do well and IMO make the console worth owning.  If you don't want to double dip on the same game you don't have to.   I'm hoping that the 3DS version of Green Lantern is good because I want a superhero 3DS game.

Wut?

If you like Street Fighter, you'll be happy.  SSFIV is the full console retail version but shrunk down.  So that's fucking brilliant, unless you've already played it to death.  Pilotwings Resort is really fun and Ridge Racer is pretty good - plenty to do.  To be fair, I've probably played with the camera app more than the games.  You could either take that as 'having a 3D camera is amazing' or as 'the games aren't THAT good'.  Bit of both.

Pilotwings Resort is average, Ridge Racer is average and done better elsewhere and Street Fighter while good is not as good as its console counterparts, also if the camara app is the best thing about the 3DS then well it speaks for itself dosn't it.

@Hizang: Option vs. option,

Sorry that you find them so average, Hizang, but he is not wrong either. I have spent hours with Pilotwings.

Yes hours, thats all you could play because after it needed charging..

Don't buy it.  I just tried it out yesterday and it was horrible.  I was playing street fighter 4 on it and it didn't work out very well to be honest.  Considering its 3d output factor, it is actually below what I expected.  When looking at the screen, it actually makes you dizzy.

There R not 2 many good games for 3DS atm. Save ur $ until after E3 & decide whether to buy 1 then.
