So I am close to pre-ordering the Zelda edition of the new 3DSxl that comes out next month. I am still using my launch aquamarine colored 3DS and I didn't know if there was anything I needed to keep in mind for when I go to grab this. For instance, is the migration process from 3DS to new system long or are there any things I should keep in mind going into this process? I assume I can't do a "system backup" onto a memory card and then just load that card into the new 3DS, right?

Any tips/advice are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I had a launch black 3DS and I went to the New 3DSXL (also black). I did a transfer over WiFi. It does take longer than the PC transfer method, but I didn't have another SD card reader around. Just make sure both units are plugged in and enjoy the wait. Overall it was fairly painless.

Migration isn't that difficult and only takes long when transferring over wifi which is why I did the transfer over PC.

The new ones use mini sd instead of micro sd cards. I forgot and had make an extra trip.

Glad I saw this. I had pre-ordered the New 3DS Happy Home bundle and didn't even know they changed the type of SD cards it uses.
