These All Arrived Together! Which One Do I Play First? (3DS Madness)
Oh fuck, don't make me choose!
Link Between Worlds has the most reasonable length, so start there. Maybe like...12-20 hours? 12 hours would only happen if you're an asshole who doesn't explore anywhere. It's really, really good, and won't tie up like 50 hours of your time like the other two.
Also, maybe get about like 3-4 hours into both Fire Emblem and Bravely Default, so that you unlock the Streetpass features in both, assuming you occasionally take your 3DS out with you?
The Legend of Zelda, even shooting for all 100 Maiamais (totally worth doing, by the way, every 10 provides a useful upgrade to an item of your choice and there's something special for collecting all of them) and some of the other sidequests it shouldn't take you too long, then you can get stuck into something meaty like Fire Emblem or Bravely Default.
I'm tempted to say leave Bravely Default for last, it's excellent for a good while there, but I just lost all desire to keep playing once the game started recycling the same content multiple times (even though the story justification was fun).
Well Zelda looks like my best bet to start out with. Ok, so what about the second spot between Bravely Default and Fire Emblem?
Is Bravely Default not out yet in America?
Nope. Bravely Default isn't out in NA until early February.
After you get through Zelda, I'd maybe suggest getting into Bravely Default. I've only played the demo, but it seems like a solid JRPG and the social features might make it advantageous to play while it's still new (although, I wasn't entirely clear on how they all worked in the demo).
@chaser324: The social features are actually a really good point, I'm not sure how much it relies on the game's current activity (it wouldn't surprise me if you still received uploaded summons from SE's database even if nobody were currently playing it), but it may very well be a good idea to play that while people are still rolling with it.
Zelda is very short and much better if played all at once than being broken up by gaining/losing free time or the urge to play the 3DS.
Also, earlier in January I got Zelda, Fire Emblem, Bravely Default (And Pokémon X) all on the same week (they came split on 3 consecutive days) and have since 100% Zelda, and am playing Pokémon and Fire Emblem simultaneously (basically rotating from one to the other each day) to be what seems like 50% of the way through both of them. I think Fire Emblem is probably the most well made of the bunch, but I think it needs time to sink in (and pauses from playing really add to the experience). Whereas, for straight playing Zelda was easily the most enticing of the bunch to never put down.
Man I was totally going to purchase both Fire Emblem and Bravely Default when that comes out here but I have yet to even play Zelda.
Anyone have a rough estimate of how fast I can get through Link between worlds?
@vinny_says: I think I finished Zelda in 12 - 14 hours.
I have no 3DS, so have not played any of those, but if I was in the same predicament I think I would probably play Fire Emblem first.
I finished Zelda, that game was great. I've chosen to go with Bravely Default next considering I've taken so long to get Fire Emblem, a little longer couldn't hurt(perhaps saving the best for last).
Bravely Default is very Japanese! Coming from Zelda which I thought had some fantastic dialogue and story telling, Bravely Default is the Japanese crazy you come to expect from the genre. It's all anime style all the time. Not necessarily a bad thing but takes some getting used to.
@chaser324@meatball: I downloaded a summon from the internet in Bravely Default that one hit killed the first major boss in the game. It seems you could really cheese your way through the game with the online features.
@renegadesaint: I don't think anyone could get through all those in a weekend.

I'd need to find my megadrive to pull that off.
