Man, Wal-Mart. I was feeling less bad about flushing my money down the toilet and getting a 3DS because I'd be getting those sweet free games while people who waited got nothing, now even that small victory has been snatched away. I need to stop buying everything immediately for no reason.

Its tempting but no.. I think I'm getting a Vita for this gen of handhelds.

@White_Silhouette: There's definitely not a lot, but Ocarina of Time is amazing. Plus Starfox comes out in exactly one month plus a Shin Megami Tensei game in a couple weeks. There's definitely some good stuff coming out soon.

Maybe if they made a 3DS that only had one color besides "Cosmo Black", maybe it might entice me to get one earlier than I should.

That's why you shouldn't actually announce what the price will drop to, till the day :P

Instead of WalMart, you could price match at a reputable retailer like Fry's Electronics.

Still not worth it personally, because it hasn't got a single game i want to play, but good for consumers none-the-less!

WHAT?!!?! that is something I would go for!!!! but I am not sure if I want to put down that money.

If only I wanted a 3DS this would be good for me but alas I'm a whore of sony and the vita is more enticing to me.

Or you could have just gone to Best Buy and then used their price drop guarantee and have them refund you the difference come Friday...whatevs...

This price drop makes me want to get one but then I stop myself when I remember that I don't care for any of the games that are out for that thing. Even the free games are not enough to persuade me, I'll wait for Luigi's Mansion 2.

Think I'll just walk into the store and take one. Seems to be what everyone else is doing in this country.

My friend asked me to buy him one while he's on business; I'll be picking mine up after a hardware refresh or another price drop.

As an Ambassador of this price drop i commend anyone who gets the best of both worlds, more power too you.

to me the 3D effect is awesome, especially if it goes into the screen.  Worth 170 bucks?  Well yeah, I think so.  Considering how much a DSi XL was selling for before.  But i just barely have time for console games and I am no longer the kid in the back playing with a gameboy.  for me this is not a good buy.  I would hardly play it.  I loved my DS when I was in college because I could play it between classes or on the subway.  Now, I feel like I am missing out on the handheld goodness. 
The biggest factor for me is the cost of games.  40 bucks is way too much for games that don't look better than Dreamcast games.  sure its gameplay and not graphics but lets get real.  Better games are out for 10 bucks on XBLA and on the iPhone.

The $170 price plus the bonus games is definitely tempting. But still, the thought that this model will probably be obsolete in less than a year is not a very good selling point...

I highly doubt that they will bring out a revision less than a year from now. holiday '12 at the earliest in my book. there are no clear indicators either way so why assume they're gonna bring out a new so soon.

OK....now I'm pissed!! But only because I don't get to exploit this loop hole... kudos to everyone who takes advantage of this opportunity.

Still no games I want for the system, so no buy. I don't care about the 20 free games that are given with it.

Cheaper 3DS does not mean there are actual games, so no thanks.
