What's the import scene like for the 3DS?

So I'm debating on if I should import a Japanese 3DS LL with Fire Emblem.

No, I don't know Japanese fluently, but I am learning it. So I could probably navigate menus better than most people, but I'll still pretty much be lost in stories in games.

Is importing a 3DS worth it? Is there a handful of really cool import games that aren't in the US market?

We are going to be getting Fire Emblem, so if you're patient you can wait for that.

I think it's still too early to say whether importing is worth it. The games I'd want are either confirmed for North American release or are likely to be confirmed.

A friend of mine is buying a Japanese 3DS to improve his Japanese, it's a good tool for that, you should do it.

As far as the scene is concerned, I think It's very good, there a loads of new Japanese centric games which are unlikely to come here.

I'll be importing these...
