Hey guys im thinking about picking up a DS , and was wondering what would be some good games to get with it..
I already know i would get New Super mario Bros.
If i could get 2 more what would you suggest (i dont like turn based strategy or FF games)
Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS is a handheld featuring two screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen. Four different models are available: the original DS, the DS Lite, the DSi, the DSi XL.
Good games to start out with?
Cooking Mama is surprisingly fun.......seriously also Trauma Center: Under The Knife - Mario Kart DS is a little too repetitive for my tastes but i would suggest one of the ones i just mentioned and Mario Kart DS
"Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is fun if you like the series.I suggest one of these Pokemon games, and Mario Kart DS.
"
"ok so..
Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Bros.
Other didnt really interest me.. How is "the world ends with you" ?? or anything that uses the stylus in a great way?"
World Ends With You is a great game (it's actually my favourite on the system). It's got a lot of customization, so the unique battle system shouldn't ever baffle you, but there is a lot of dialogue throughout the game.
The story seems to be kinda hit and miss with some people, but I enjoyed it.
Other gmaes that you could try that use the stylus a lot are TLoZ-Phantom Hourglass. It's just a continuation of the standard top-down Zelda formula, but a little bit easier and with stylus controls.
If you're a action gamer, I recommend these games:
Castlevnia: Dawn Of Sorrow (sequel to Aria of Sorrow, it's the better DS Metroidvania game between it and Portrait Of Ruin, namely due to the soul system-it's like a demonic Pokemon, almost)
Contra 4 (pretty self-explanatory. Great bosses, crazy levels, and brutal difficulty).
Any of the Castlevania games if you can find them. Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright are two good series as well.
"AlexIsStillAThreat said:You should really trust that man. Cooking Mama is awesome!"Cooking Mama is surprisingly fun.......NO. Do not trust this man.

"did they port superman 64 to the ds yet?Oh god.
"
Anyway, Contra 4 kicks ass. There's a new Fire Emblem soon if you're into that.
I've had Mario Kart since it came out and I still play it.
Playing through Zelda at the mo, its pretty much exactly the same as all the other Zelda games i've played except with stylus controls.
If you're looking for something out of left field, Trace Memory is a great choice
Advance Wars Dual Strike is amazing aswell, better than Days of Ruin IMHO.
I'm playing Speed Racer aswell at the moment, its the only racing game other than Mario Kart that i've played on the ds that is any good, kind of like F-Zero. (When are nintendo gonna make F-Zero DS?!)
- Mario Kart DS - Mario Kart, period.
- Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass - Yes.
- New Super Mario Bros. - Yes.
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time - The second in the Mario & Luigi RPG series. Reminds me of Paper Mario (64).
- Super Mario 64 DS - The classic Mario 64; touched up graphics, more levels, new minigames!
Ultimate Package for DS:
-Mario Kart DS
-Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
-Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
-Elite Beat Agents
Professor Layton and the Curious VillageThis!
Also:
- Meteos (action puzzle)
- GRiD (racing)
- Hotel Dusk (adventure)
And of course, the ever overlooked jewel, one of the few RTS that actually work, and a fantastic game overall, Anno 1701 DS. If you can find it.
i just picked up Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Elite Beat Agents , and both were ridiculously cheap in my local hmv.
I can wholeheartedly recomend 'The World Ends With You', even if you utterly hate Final Fantasy (same developer). The game is way different from FF; it's full real time and has the most original use of the touch screen and dual screen that i have seen so far.
I liked Hotel Dusk as well, but that's probably coz i'm a very old gamer and i miss old style adventure games... But the story there is pretty nice. Or should i say nice enough.
