I hope this isn't pinned on games. There is no way a game- especially Advance Wars- can make someone do something so insane.

It's clear the story just says it's a crime of (lunatic) passion and has nothing to do with the actual game, other than it was a common interest. Feel free to talk about it, despite the thread's title, they don't imply anything bad about games, or Advance Wars in particular.

This just makes me imagine an Advance Wars gang, where they settle their differences with Advance Wars.

German gamer murders fellow Advance Wars enthusiast.

A German cyber gamer flew from all the way from Germany to the UK to kill the owner of an online forum, after becoming obsessed with the man's girlfriend. 

David Heiss, 21, from Germany, killed Matthew Pyke last September by stabbing him 86 times in a "savage and sustained attack," Nottingham Crown Court was told. 

Heiss was one of 40 members of the website Pyke ran: Warscentral.com, a site for enthusiasts of the game Advance Wars. Pyke went by the name Shade, on the site.

Forget GTA influencing people to kill, it is Advance Wars we need to to worry about.  

What surprises me is that someone on a gaming site has a girlfriend :-)

LOL, I always laugh at that video. And then get scared that somewhat gets this passionate...over Counter Strike. WOW.And this story is pretty sick, and a bit funny too. I mean, seriously, Advance Wars is probably best age-spanning RTS out there, so it is not like soldiers can go and stab other infantrymen in a brutal fashion like this nut did."
