    So around e3 there was a rumor going around Nintendo was going to show off a new DS model sans GBA slot making it smaller.  This never happened at the conference.  Does anyone have any other news on this or is just a silly rumor?

    Nintendo are lost for ideas at the minute. My predicted Wii fad has just gained some credibility. As far as the DS is concerned , i see no reason why they need to change the current slim model.

    it was just a rumors. Both by people  that thought that would be  Nintendos big surprise for E3. The real big surprise was that they didn't have a surprise this year. And by a add that had what looked like a windscreen DS.

    yep it was announced at e3 i think and has a camra, internal memory, and some other new things and was supposed to be released Q1 or Q2 this year..
