Whilst the DS can never compete with the vastly superior powered home consoles, it does in its own right, provide many opportunities for some fun on the go. Some go for realism, whilst others enjoy the cartoon style we have loved for 20 years.

Personally, I only have 3 games in this genre:
Metroid Prime Hunters - nice looking, plays well, but got lost in amongst all my RPG games for my time.
Starfox Command - got a good amount of play time. A lot better than I thought and worthy of your time.
Glory Days 2 - nice old school game, but not interesting enough to keep me playing for long.
I must get Geometry Wars and Space Invaders though. They look like fun and appeal to my memories of the arcades in the late 70s.
