Well, that is the USA done, and here is some of the more interesting looking Japanese games with a release in October:

Blue Dragon: Ikai no Kyoujuu - RPG
Design your own character from scratch and take them to battles, you will meet all the cute Toriyama Akira characters and battle all the fearsome monsters. Develop your shadow, dragon, phoenix or a giant robot, everything depends on your heart.

Make these shadows as powerful as possible and Switch between using them and your physical attacks during battle. Enjoy the epic storyline when you play alone, connect with other friends via the Wi-Fi facility to ask your friends to join your quest with you.

    Iron Master - Action

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey - RPG
Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey has one of the most epic plot in the series. Breaking out of youth/juvenile culture, this installment will pull you into a SF world. Explore the new, expanding dimension in south pole, find a way to stop it from expanding before it swallows the earth whole.

Get into the Demonica suits, a product of cutting edge technology. These clothes allow you to communicate and tame the demons in the dimension. Collect and utilize are still the main theme of the game play. Come meet the familiar demons in this odd dimension.

Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shinryokusha (Blizzard)
Inazuma Eleven 2: Kyoui no Shinryokusha (Fire)     - RPG

Aliens are invading and the Inazuma soccer team is all we have to defend our land. Travel the world to recruit the strongest players and train together to strengthen the team.

    Remember, united we stand!

The game is available as Fire and Blizzard versions. Choose your ace, you have the familiar Goenji in Fire and the equally cool Fubuki in Blizzard. Enemies differ as well. You meet the Frontier team or the Diamond Dust team depending on the versions.

When skills and opponents differ between versions, Fire and Blizzard does feel like two different games, does it? The earth is under double attack, get your your spikes and uniforms ready!

    Elemental Hunters - Action

Kurayami no Hate de Kimi o Matsu - Adventure

    Rune Factory 3 - RPG
Rune Factory deviates from the usual Harvest Moon series by incorporating the sword and sorcery RPG elements into the gameplay and Rune Factory 3 takes this another step. You can transform into a monster.

No, not a wolf in a full moon night, but a golden Mokomoko, a fluffy lamb.

Maise the amnesiac hero is in the form of a Mokomoko when Cia found him. Not only did she take him in, she lent him farmland and got him ready for an adventure. Defeat monsters in the dungeon, fill the darkest caves with greenery and marry one of the pretty bachelorettes.

Turn yourself into a Mokomoko to win the ladies' favours, what they were unwilling to tell you when you were human, they may tell you when you are a fluffy beast. Just remember to keep this a secret from the ladies.

Date ni Game Tsui Wake Jane! Dungeon Maker Girls Type - RPG

Hikari no 4 Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden - RPG
Go gather a group of friends to defeat the Witch of the North and save the princess. The tried and true story line is reinvented with new visuals and game system, go embark on this familiar yet fascinating journey.

With characters designed by Yoshida Takehiko (FF III DS vers., FF XII etc) this is a fun and cute game in a colorful super deformed world that represented the core style of the Final Fantasy series.

Sword World 2.0: Game Book DS   - RPG

So, there you go, October for you.  How's it look?  Anything going to hit your wallet (or already has).  What about the Japanese games - anything you want a Western release of?

Me too.  I love RPG and strategy on the DS, so I am very interested in:
    A Witch's Tale
    Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
    Nostalgia
Ateliier Annie: Alchemist of Sera Island
    Fighting Fantasy
    Hero's Saga: Laevatien Tactics
Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road
Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes
    Monster Racers.

As far as new Japanese games go, more of the same:
    Blue Dragon
    Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
    Rune Factory 3
    Final Fantasy Gaiden

Quite a lot really.  If even half of those games are good, I will be cash poor  ^-^

Oh dear.  I just scanned through some reviews for A Witch's Tale and it doesn't look good.  That's disappointing.  Still, plenty more to look at.

That is disappointing. I wasn't too super on it, but oh well.
I wonder if that Wizard of Oz game is really worth a purchase. IGN gave it an 8.
Jam Sessions was a fun program. I might pick up 2 down the road
As I hinted in my blog, I really enjoyed a demo of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. It's a fun little puzzle game
Nostalgia is a required purchase for me. The question is when I will buy it.

It is disappointing, but whilst there are so many more to choose from, it's cool.  I think the Wizard of OZ is one of those games that I would get later and cheaper, along with Jam Sessions 2.

Nostalgia is also amust own for me, but these ones are also: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days , Ateliier Annie: Alchemist of Sera Island & (Japanese ones when translated) Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey , Rune Factory 3 , Final Fantasy Gaiden

I'm currently in the middle of 358/2 Days, and it's a very fun game.  It's amazing how well they were able to take a combat system that originated on the PS2 and translate it onto the DS without relying on the touch screen.

I'm also looking forward to Nostalgia, and I'm interested in the Wizard of Oz game.  Other than that, I definitely plan to get Strange Journey when it's localized and released over here.

I got Chrono Trigger about 3 weeks ago and I haven't even started it yet.  In fact, I still have a bout 10 or so DS RPGs I haven't started yet.  And I still keep buying more.

@oldschool: I know, it's like a horrible disease or something. The games get all these glowing reviews, and people really like them, but who actually is gonna play a 50+ hour RPG on their handheld console, with that tiny-ass screen? Who actually plays SMT games on the bus?

I wouldn't play such a game while commuting, if I do play such game outside it's nearly always in a park while laid out on the grass. I find It's a great way to play the DS. Other than that scenario, I've never taken to playing my DS outdoors.

I have a hammock, and on pleasant days on the weekend, nothing is sweeter than the shade of a gum tree, the view of the mountain, and an RPG in the DS.

That sounds great, that's so me also  :), I love hammocks!, but I've never actually owned one myself. I may well take inspiration from you and get one that's easy to carry.

Just Space Invaders Extreme 2. Although I'm interested in Drawn to Life 2, Fighting Fantasy, Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, and Nostalgia too, I'm waiting to see how they turn out.

I assume then that you played Space Invaders Extreme as well?  It was much loved and being the Space Invaders generation, I have been tempted to try it.  I am only likely to get one of the two.  How did you find the first?

Very difficult, it's basically a modern take on Space Invaders with subtle additions that make it great, like Pac-Man Championship Edition. And yeah with the sequel coming out so soon it doesn't makes much sense to get both, the second is just like the first with a lot more stream-lining so that there are less pauses during the rounds.

If the first is cheap, I will just get that (and I think it is cheap) as two of much the same game would be one less other game I could buy.
