An internal Nintendo development studio that has developed many of Nintendo's peripherals and games.
Overview
Nintendo R&D2 (Research and Development 2) is an internal development studio of Nintendo. R&D2 has developed many peripherals for Nintendo's consoles (in fact, during their first ten years with the company, they only produced peripherals), but they have also developed software. The studio was originally headed by Masayuki Uemura, whose ideas led to many of Nintendo's light gun games. In 2004, Kazuhiko Taniguchi took over the company. In 2005, R&D2 (as well as R&D1 and R&D3) were merged with Nintendo EAD (Entertainment Analysis and Development).Games
