Overview
Software Planning & Development Group No.1 is the spiritual successor to the Nintendo Randamp;amp;amp;D1 team. The group was created in 2003, after Satoru Iwata (Person)'s internal restructuring at NCL. R&D1 star designer and Metroid creator Yoshio Sakamoto (Person) is the general manager and chief producer of this development team responsible for development and production of several games including WarioWare (Franchise), Metroid (Franchise), Card Hero (Franchise), Rhythm Heaven (Franchise), and Tomodachi Collection. The manager of SPD Group 1 is Katsuya Yamano (Person).

Rhythm Heaven (Game)
Rhythm Heaven (known in Europe as Rhythm Paradise) is a surreal rhythm/action game, sequel to the Japan-only GBA game Rhythm Tengoku. Japanese music producer TSUNKU helped direct and compose music for the game.
Paper Airplane Chase (Game)
A DSiWare port of a popular minigame from the original WarioWare, in which you guide a paper plane down a tower.
