The date and time for the "Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017" was just Tweeted out a couple of hours ago. This will be a live event streamed on Nintendo.com where we will probably learn details on the launch date, price, features and games of the platform.

The times are included in the pictures below. Looks like I'll be waking up quite early for this one.

The more I see the Switch the more I think the bezels on that thing look hella outdated.

All I want is a Breath of The Wild Bundle. The game and a pro controller for $350-400. Anything else after that is simply a bonus. I'm also hoping that they make the Wii U titles downloadable later on. Never bought the Wii U so there are games that I want to play like Smash Bros. for example.

I don't think we'll see anything at this presentation but with the Switch, I think Nintendo will finally do the 2D Metroid people have been asking for. It has never made more sense to do it, the Switch being a hybrid handheld and all. Calling it!

Since I doubt there's going to be a chat thing on the site, would anyone be down for a discord during the show?

There are two main games that I feel I missed out on by not owning a Wii U. Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario Maker. If there are updates, sequels, or ports for either of those games, I'll be happy.

Bayonetta 3 would be nice as well.

What's up with Giantbombs live stream "Are You a Good Switch or a Bad Switch?". It starts jan 13 at 08:00 pm, 24 hours after Nintendos live event. Will they not "talk over Nintendos live event" as usual?

@theswede: Most likely because of Jeff. If he is going out there and that gives him a reasonable amount of time to get into the NYC office and begin an impressions video. Also that makes it reasonable and does not force their staff to stay up in the office so late.

So they will likely have Jeff and the gang talk over the impressions/news from the two streams while one of the video producers pushes the related part of the video.

Anybody else want to make some last minute predictions?

Personally I think this may be a digital only device (the memory cards could be purely storage expansion), but maybe Nintendo have already shot this prediction down as I have not been following too close.

I will also say steep launch price (so $300 upwards, I get its mobile technology but the unit combined and presumably the other features such as a touch screen will put the price high at launch whilst unit production is ramping up at a guess).

I am also going out on a limb here and will say it does not launch Worldwide same day/date. I think Japan or USA first (with whoever does not get it first out of them two being second) then Europe/Rest of the world later on.

Launch titles, if its not worldwide then probably not many, say Mario and a few other party/sports games/handheld style RPG's. If its worldwide then maybe Skyrim and Zelda also launch with it.

These are out there shouts, but maybe one or more could be right? I am guessing I will likely be wrong, but I like to make these shouts every now and then.

Oh if we're doing predictions:

• $349.99 - We've seen prices for all-in-one Tegra X1s in Nvidia Shield TV at $199 - The large capacitive touch display, multiple batteries, stand, fiddly controller things, portable engineering and the fact Nintendo doesn't loss-lead with hardware dictates $350 to me at a minimum
• Mario Kart 8 Switch is a few new tracks and characters with some goofy new online feature
• Mario Switch is a Galaxy-esque 3d Mario in the 3D World universe - we only get the barest of footage of this and its due in late 2018
• A load of 3rd party port stuff ala Skyrim Remastered keen to appear on a portable. Nothing exciting here
• Switch ports of Splatoon, 3d World, Pokken Tournament and Hyrule Warriors
• Something subtle that unintentionally hints that Wii U Zelda is cancelled

It's weird how excited I am to learn more about this thing. I've been looking forward to this presentation all day.

I'm looking forward to a handful of "Nintendo-like solutions" to problems that Microsoft solved 11 years ago, and I'm also looking forward to seeing that new Mario game.
