I still care about Nintendo but not as strong as before. What worries me now is that Nintendo is focusing too much on hardware that they are neglecting the software part. Instead of using the time and effort to create new IPs, they are releasing the same old games and titles to help compliment the new control scheme.
It was an interesting notion at first when the introduced the Wii controls in 2006 but after toiling with it for a few years, I became more attached to other consoles because in the end, I want to play new games with HD graphics, traditional controls and new titles, which the Wii was not capable of doing.
Even though the Wii U has HDMI and quite possibly a wider range of games, I'm still not convinced with the GamePad. To me, it looks like an expansion for the Wii and not an entirely new, next-gen console. It's all flash and no substance.
Nintendo, we salute you for always being innovative over the years but this time, we kindly ask you to tone down the innovation bit and to focus more on the games than on hardware.
