A consumer report for toys and games has revealed that Nintendo has now overtaken Mattel in the US to becoming leading company in the sector.  The report, "Toys and Games in World", puts together leading companies and brands with analysis into factors influencing the market. It includes toys as well as traditional and video games.

In the review period, between 2003 and 2008, Nintendo has shot upwards to claim top spot in the industry.

Mattel has actually worked with Nintendo before, as distributor in the UK, Canada and Australia up until the early 90s. My first NES, which I still have, has in fact got a Mattel label on the box.  "Mattel Version"
