Apparently Nintendo was hacked by the guys who are attacking sony: source. No sensitive information and no personal details were obtained but Nintendo confirmed the breach. So yeah, no company seems to be safe from these guys. They say they are ''helping'' by pointing at holes in the system but they go ahead and release personal details. These guys are bringing important heat on themselves, they better be sure they are completely anonymous.
*edit* Yeah the title is wrong.

Nintendo was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1889 as a manufacturer of hanafuda playing cards. The company went through several small niche businesses before becoming a video game company.
Nitendo Hacked by Lulzsec
0 respect for these jack asses, these hacks are completely pointless. They aren't even funny.
They're just attention whores, let's ignore them until they go away.
Likely because a decent number of them did originate on 4chan or Something Awful. I'm not sure what reasoning they have for attacking Nintendo. I mean, I can kinda follow their reasoning what with Anonymous and the other groups all having attacked Sony but Nintendo? It seems more like an attempt to merely make a name for themselves. Then again, LulzSec are good at what they do: they attacked an FBI owned website and then tweeted about it under the hashtag of #FuckFBIFriday, and shared all the information that they could via the hack. It's odd that all of this is happening so quickly but the companies really need to do something to re-secure themselves, or it is going to get worse and worse as more and more groups join the fray. When they attacked the FBI website they also left this as a reminder of their work:Why does every so-called hacker group have a name that sounds like it was conceived on either 4chan or Something Awful?
As you'd expect the video is a meme (could it have been anything else?), but it's a meme I've never seen used before.
I share your zero respect, I don't share your opinion that these are all pointless.0 respect for these jack asses, these hacks are completely pointless.
Unless you consider achieving one's goal of costing the company you want to hurt money and confidence in the brand pointless.
@angelkanarias said:They breached that specific server so, yeah it's a story. Go troll another place. No sensitive information and no personal details were obtained but...but thanks for sharing this non-story where nothing happened.
@angelkanarias said:I still think it's an interesting story even if nothing major happened after LulzSec managed to gain control over the site. The fact they managed to gain control over the site in the first place is news enough to me, due to the fact Nintendo doesn't seem to have done anything to annoy the hacking groups out there. No sensitive information and no personal details were obtained but...but thanks for sharing this non-story where nothing happened.

Probably because Anonymous is so heavily associated with 4chan. As for the latter, I'm of the high opinion that Something Awful is full of nothing but pretentious dicks. Why does every so-called hacker group have a name that sounds like it was conceived on either 4chan or Something Awful?
If they do bring sony down during there press conference i hope they have somewhere to hide for 50 years.

They aren't though. This hack did virtually nothing to Nintendo and their Sony hack didn't even hit Sony's game division, though I'm sure they want everyone to think it did.
They are just doing this to get in the headlines, they want to look like big boys but they don't have the computing power to pull of anything big or the wit to do anything clever.
Lol, they seem to be confident about their skills.Definitely! I hope their confidence is poorly based though because even if you're 'fighting' for some reason, annoying the FBI probably is not the way to go. Unless your fight is against the FBI, which seems unlikely.
These miscreants have gone too. Every time I read your bio, I read your name as Anal.lol
I'll give you the latest hacks. Guess I'm just so used to people saying the PSN hack was "pointless" (regardless of the millions and millions it cost Sony) that I assumed you were lumping that in with these new ones.@ProfessorEss said:

It wouldn't be a proper GB thread if ryanwho didn't troll it at some point.
Is no one excited to see them talk about it at DEFCON this summer?! Fuck, might end up getting an event badge for this year after all.I don't think they would actually talk about it at DEFCON, I mean, FBI dudes go to these conferences.
Bunch of stupid kids craving attention because their parents don't love them and they have no friends.

I didn't see this coming. It's interesting that this time round they didn't leak out any inside data and this looks like a genuine effort by LulzSec to expose a hole in Nintendo's security, but put alongside their previous actions this only makes the whole situation more confusing. When they said they were going to hack Sony to begin with they didn't offer any clear logic as to why they were doing it, when they did attack Sony they said that they were only exposing security flaws and that they weren't just showing off hacking skills, but then leaked a bunch of data for unknown reasons anyway, and now this. These guys certainly seem to be skilled hackers, but even if they have some idea of why they're doing this now I'm not convinced they started these attacks with any logic as to what they were doing.
