Overview
Nova Prospekt The old coast prison served several purposes under the new Combine administrators, the first was imprisonment and interrogation of enemies. A second important purpose was the transformation of human subjects into Combine soldiers and Stalkers, to strengthen the Combine's grip on the planet. After intrusions by a horde of
Antlions and resistance members such as
Gordon Freeman and
Alyx Vance, it became known that the Combine had constructed a
teleporter within Nova Prospekt. This teleporter was used later to escape the facility.
Destruction
The continued use of the teleporter caused it to become unstable and then explode. This resulted in the destruction of Nova Prospekt, ending all Combine projects there, including the vital
teleportation project. In the end, the crippling of Nova Prospekt galvanized the human Resistance and signaled the beginning of a larger revolution.
