The Odin character is seen often in RPG games, particularly his role as the ruler of Asgard in Valkyrie Profile, or as one of the deadliest summon creatures in Final Fantasy titles, where he is usually the summon who has a certain percent chance of causing instant death on enemies.
In Valkyrie Profile, Odin is (much like his mythological position) the ruler of Asgard, something of a Norse Heaven. He believes Ragnarok, the end of days, is drawing near, and sends his Valkyrie, Lenneth, out to the world below (Midgard) to search and obtain souls to help fight off the Ragnarok.
In the Final Fantasy series, he is usually just a summoned creature, having no part in the main storyline. The exception is in Final Fantasy IX, when Queen Brahne summons Odin to destroy, nay, obliterate, Cleyra, wiping it clean off the map.
