via RockPaperShotgun - http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02/21/omnibus-driving-simulator-is-impressive/

on a side note: there is a comment on the rockpapershotgun story that asks who is this for.... the responses are amazing

"I AM a bus driver – this game exerts a kind of morbid fascination. I mean, yes, I could spend my leisure time pretending I’m at work (after travelling back in time a few decades and moving a few hundred miles), and for kicks do all the things we’re never allowed to do, like drive double-deck buses into bridges. " -

jus' saying...

anyway back to the important part

  • The classic versions of the MAN double-decker buses SD200 and SD202 are included
  • Realistic and intelligent traffic and detailed landscape
  • Realistic and controllable weather and seasonal effects
  • Realistic day and night effects
  • Many animations and animated objects
  • Fully functional IBIS (integrated on-board information system)
  • Four different views: driver sight, passenger sight, exterior view or free view
  • Script engine to influence the handling characteristics and functions of the bus
  • Easy to use, map-based track editorInsert your own vehicles
  • Compatible with TrackIR 5 "
"Easy to use"... 0_0
these words have never been used to describe something in a simulator till now. You are witnessing innovation.

My god.... TrackIR 5 with a bus simulator.. that would be crazy

I saw this on RPS too and came here to create this exact thread. You beat me to it, duder.

Sure, it's hilarious that this is a thing, which is available for purchase, and that there are undoubtedly people that will play and actually enjoy it. But that whole aspect aside, as someone who has spent a lot of time commuting by bus in Germany, let me tell you: Holy shit, this is eerily close to the real thing. I think it's the small details that make this video very striking to watch, like the opening and closing sound of the driver's window, the engine sounds, the totally accurate dashboard, the hissing sound the brakes make when pulling up to a stop, and so on. It's all very close to reality. I used to see and hear these things every day.

So yeah, Bus Simulator. Pretty crazy.

You think the crew will do a quick look?

I don't think it will be a mainstream as Ship Simulator extreme or farming simulator. But it will probably be better.

Haha, they were not exactly mainstream either. I see what you're saying though, and i also think the bus sim will be even less attractive to non-Germans. It's set in Berlin in the 80s. The other sim games were at least somewhat generalized.
