The Oracle Turret, also known as the Prometheus Turret or the Different Turret, is an Aperture Science Sentry Turret that exhibits a blinking laser sight, a unique voice, and unique dialogue. It appears in chapters 1 and 5 of the single player mode of Portal 2—first in an inactive section of the Aperture Science Pipe Network and later on a conveyor belt heading toward an incinerator. It references and foreshadows several past and future events of which Chell only learns after meeting it. The turret’s names are inspired by some of its cryptic dialogue, most notably the phrases: "I'm different." and “ Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to Man. He was cast into the bowels of the Earth and pecked by birds.”
