    hey

i recently downloaded both steam & origin clients , i love the sales on steam and most of the services but i love how origin prices change for my region , i.e steam show's prices in "$" and i have to convert it to my local currency

; origin however shows me the price in my local currency .

i think that's a nice touch and saves the user the hassle of converting the price to their local currency .

the steam catalog is pretty awesome though

I'd prefer to pay in $ since $1,99 is an even better deal than €1,99 :(

@Ghost_Cat: thats sorta my point , if they want my money , the least they can do is show the prices in my local currency.

also i get origin games cheaper, e.g ME2 would be arnd 2000 on steam and 999 on origin lol

    That's the only reason?

Let me understand this; you only like origin better because it converts to your local currency and steam doesn't?

Even though steam has sales constantly, is user friendly, is run by a trusted developer/publisher, has amazing prices, is always there for you on your birthdays, will mourn your passing, and has the largest (I think) selection of downloadable games right now- the only thing that matters to you is the price being converted?

    Ok. Just checking.

@CornBREDX: i'm not saying that origin is better then steam , I'm just saying that if i would like to give my money to someone for a game i can buy both on origin/steam I'd rather go with the option that atleast cares enough to give me my local rate and help he decide if i want to buy it or not, rather then me opening up a website to convert every time i wanted to buy a game i wanted .

i love the steam sales and game's catalog , if steam showed prices in my local currency steam would have my money.

@xdaknightx69: The name of the topic is "Why I like Origin over Steam" which implies you think it's better.

I don't personally care if you like it or not, but your reasoning is a little silly. I agree the conversion thing is a time saver, and really why Steam doesn't have that for those outside the US is unknown to me, but that's a really silly reason to like it more when converting isn't hard.

There are usually pros and cons and one out weighs the other. In your reasoning here you have one con on steam and several pros. You have one pro on origin and could probably think of several cons.

I'm just sayin'- your reasoning seems really silly. But no worries, I just found to be odd reasoning. You don't have to agree hehe

I like how Steam charges me in USD instead of local currency. It makes it cheaper for me. The people who have Steam charge them in their own currency get ripped off. Just ask anyone who has to pay in GBP, EUR or AUD.

I like Steam because their customer service is amazing. I cannot say the same for Origin. I have been on CS chat log with some guy named Pooja for 20 minutes now and all I have done is confirm my order number. Seriously, Origin sucks.
