Oswald McGullicuty is a newspaper journalist, credited with coming up with the name for the Jigsaw killer. He was also very vocal about his theories in his articles and consistently claimed Detective David Tapp was the infamous killer. Eventually, his constant jabs got the attention of the real Jigsaw, who put his resolve to the test. Rescued by David Tapp, the main focus of Jigsaw's attention, he eventually realized the error of his thinking and apologized to Tapp for dragging his name through the mud. Soon after rescue, Oswald succumbs to a crushing trap, sprung by a crossing a tripwire.
