Still a great game, but not ideal for the Xbox 0

If you've never played the original Pac-Man, you are seriously missing out on one of the greatest video games ever made. It's simplicity of design, masterful balance, and addicting qualities have allowed it to endure for 30 years and counting.  In widescreen, Pac-Man maintains it's original aspect ratio - plus sidebars, of course. In case you really haven't ever playing Pac-Man before, I'll give you the rundown. The game play is simple: guide Pac-Man, a yellow ball with a mouth, around t...

A bad port of one of the most AMAZING game ever created! 0

Pac-Man was a phenomenon of the early 1980s, and during the first big boom of video games. Pac-Man played probably the biggest role in video games only really coming behind Super Mario Bros. When introduced to the arcade market, it hit by storm and everyone in their right mind were feeding quarters into Pac-Man machines wherever it may be, such as Funeral Homes, or Bowling alleys. But, lets get into the version for the first ``real`` home video game console.  The Atari 2600 was a very popular co...

Hey, I bet this gives no tangible notice that I've completed this review. Sean thinks that people will anally fill out multiple reviews of multiple platforms all in one sitting. If they did, do you know what they'd fill out? The SAME review COPY/PASTED into the exact same review box for a separate platform....

I don't care what you say, I like it 0

My first exposure to Pac-Man was on the Atari 2600. I played it probably more than any other games on the console. I loved every minute of it. So it came to me as a surprise that it's not only the game's most hated port, but it's one of the most hated games period.I didn't get to play the "real" Pac-Man until I was a bit older, and needless to say, I was pretty blown away by how much better it was. However, it didn't affect my taste of the original version I'd played.Looking back at the 2600 ver...

Play this Milestone of Classic Arcade Gaming 0

The most successful video games birth franchises, but few are the games that create a cultural phenomenon. In that hallowed company stand the likes of Super Mario Bros, Doom, and, of course, Pac-Man. Developed by Namco and released in 1980, Pac-Man is about the titular cheese-wheel-missing-a-slice looking character navigating a maze to eat dot-size pellets and fruit while being pursued by the most aggressive ghosts this side of a Spartan graveyard.A memorable jingle opens each level before Pac-M...

Pac_Man is one of the best arcade games to date 0

Pac-Man is a yellow looking pizza with a piece taken out of it, and collects pac-dots on the screen in a maze type fashion. Each level is designed the same way. In each level there are 4 ghosts that move around and try to get you, and once they hit you, you'll lose a life, when only having three throughout the whole game. Your main objective is to collect every pac-dot on screen, and the larger pac-dots turn the ghosts blue, and then gain access to eat the ghosts while they are blue for extra po...

Ah yes, the forefather of rushing game development. 0

This much-loved game was released on a variety of platforms, including the Atari 2600 version, which was released on an unfinished state. This review only covers this port, which is considered as one of the worst video games of all time, but unlike popular belief, only has a micro portion of the video game crash of 1983. The objective is to traverse a maze, consuming all the wafers within while avoiding four ghosts (duh!). Unlike the arcade cabinet, the layout was changed to fit on the Atari ...
