Pandemic was a L.A. based, EA-owned studio that was dissolved in November of 2009. Their key franchises are expected to continue.

Overview

Pandemic Studios was an American video game development studio based in Los Angeles, CA. They were responsible for a number of popular franchises including Mercenaries, Full Spectrum Warrior, and Star Wars: Battlefront.

On October 11, 2007, Pandemic Studios and its sister company BioWare were both acquired by Electronic Arts through EA's purchases of VG Holding Corp . In November 2009, alongside 1500 layoffs across several EA studios, Pandemic was disbanded as well. A small intellectual property team would be consolidated into EA's Los Angeles studio with the promise that Pandemics franchises would continue. Their last game, The Saboteur, was still released on time despite the closure.
