PANZAR is a fantasy multiplayer third-person shooter. There are eight unique character classes, team-based PvP battles, a PvE mode and tournaments for crystals and real prizes. There are elements of advanced RPG along with a non-target combat system and CryEngine 3 graphics.
PvP vs PvE:
There are two modes, 10 vs 10 PvP fights and a new PvE mode. Friends can group in parties of three for battles. All classes are complimentary and it’s essential to play to the character’s strength (support vs attack - distance vs melee).
Races and Classes
There are four races, Humans, Elves, Orcs and Dwarves. They are ruled by a different god and blessed with different skills. There are healers, inquisitors, ice and fire mages as well as berserkers, tanks, gunners and sappers. Each class has its own skill tree and sets of epic armor. There are 30 levels within the game and they give you access to different maps and game modes.
Maps and Universe
PANZAR is set in the dreamscape of almighty God Argus. Battles last between 10 and 30 minutes in landscapes belonging to the different races: mountain waterfalls, jungle villages, ancient castles and temple ruins. They generally publish a new map with every major update.
PvP game mode
A few different gameplay modes – Domination, Siege, Rugby and King of the Hill - as well as a promised ‘Quantum’ Flag Capture ‘mode in the future Dwarven map Mines of Kromholm (with Update 34).
Clans and Tournaments
There’s an active social system which gives players access to the weekly tournament and other special events. In the last six months, there have been Razer, Plantronics, Qpad sponsored events. Clans can organise training matches, present and register their teams on the Panzar website and play in tournaments. They usually give out 13,000 crystals each week to the top 4 teams - and one random losing teams.
Panzar has in-game voice chat, team and battle chat options. The game client allows you to add friends and group for battles (as long as the battle rating isn’t too different).
GAME CLIENT AND SERVERS
Game Client, Panzar.com and Steam
The game is available directly on the panzar.com website - but it’s important to select the region in the top right hand corner of the page. That’s where to choose the language options too. There are often crystal codes for people who want to download Panzar, so it’s definitely worth googling it before creating an account. They generally only work on the Panzar.com game client (not Steam). Players can also get gold bonuses for inviting friends (used for upgrades).
Steam: Players can get Panzar through Steam and use their Steam wallet to get crystals and premium and all that other stuff. By the way, US server is still in test mode, if you download the game client from Steam and you are closest to US, you will be stuck on the alphaserver. So it’s better to go to Panzar.com and choose Europe region instead. They have merged servers with RU so there are matches day and night. There is an active social network around Panzar on Steam. There are reviews/screenies, player-vids, the devs on the forum regularly and they announce all the tournaments and news.
Also, if you have a Panzar game client (from Panzar.com) and a steam account, they can’t be merged. Not possible.
EU, RU and US servers - IMPORTANT: At the moment, the US server is not 'active' - it's only possible to play public matches. The active servers are in Europe and Russia so even if you are in US, it’s better to get the European one. They have future plans to create an active server in US but at the moment, there is no social system, so if you want to play tournaments, and everything else, play on the EU server.
Crystals and Gold: It’s somewhere between f2p and paying. The first 10 levels can be played f2p style but after, a premium account will really help farm resources, forge weapons and gain XP. The payment system works with crystals, they can also be used to customise the character. Armour can be upgraded using gold collected after each battle.
