Was I the only one under this impression? :D

There were others that were confused about this before, but since the beginning they've said this is an all new Paper Mario game. The 3DS title to look forward to the most, in my opinion.

Would have been pretty sweet.

This. Holy shit, when I saw it was a new one, I came.

Was Super Paper Mario any good? I never got around to playing it.

They have said so little about it your mistake was understandable.

Thousand Year Door is one of my all-time favorites. Excited for this one.

I am pretty excited about a new turn-based Paper Mario. Super was ok, but got a bit repetitive and it just wasen't what I was looking for from Paper Mario gameplay wise.

Not the best PM, but a good game by normal standards. Simple, yet deep action RPG.

Also since you're forum user I'm sure you will love the main boss in world 3.

I'm glad it isn't a remake. The 3DS needs original content and while I liked the first Paper Mario a lot, but the The Thousand-Year Door was better in just about every way. A new Paper Mario is going to be awesome though, just as long as it's an RPG.

I knew it was a new one from the screenshots. I know my Paper Mario.

And I'm glad they're going back to the old gameplay. Super Paper Mario was... weird.

I am all kinds of excited for it, I can understand being confused since its just called "Paper Mario". I hope it gets a snazzy subtitle, its not like that series requires a reboot or anything. 

Super Paper Mario was a great game no doubt about it.  But I would sum it up like this: I have played Paper Mario honestly 5 or 6 times to completion, and TTYD at least 3 times despite it's length.  I have no intention of playing Super Paper Mario again.
 
Seriously play TTYD people.  Absolutely unbelievable game.

I thought it was a remake at first too, which I would've probably bought, because my love of Paper Mario can not be expressed in words. When I watched the trailer and realized it was a whole new game, using the original game mechanics, I bought a 3DS right then. Those games are great. Super Paper Mario was a good game, and still funny, but there's something really great about the combat in Paper Mario and the first sequel. Also, Paper Mario is one of the few games that I actually care about being in 3D. If you played the previous ones, you know how cool those crazy effects and tricks they play on your eyes could look.

Disagree, the first one was great but Paper Mario has only gone up hill since the first installment. No point in going back wards.
