Foreshadowing is a plot device that allows the creators to leave subtle (or not-so-subtle) hints about future events in the game.
A person, often a gypsy woman, gifted in diviniation through some kind of inate power or mysticism, usually with the aid of a crystal ball.
Fuzzys are parasites that suck HP to heal themselves.
Game Over originally appeared in pinball machines, and later, arcade machines. When players lose at a game, it is game over.
These are games that dump you directly to the title screen after you get Game Over screen.
Known for their flashy appearance and superficial charisma, game show hosts in video games are often not to be trusted - outside of game show adaptations, at least.
An interesting revelation. While some games will only accept a START button press, many other games aren't as strict.
These spooky entities are the spirits of the dead, returned from beyond their graves for generally sinister purposes. There's generally about even odds whether a particular ghost will be helpful or malevolent towards the living, but some ghosts just want to be left alone entirely.

Gliding is an ability that allows a character to extend their jump further usually through the help of wings or other aerodynamic tools. Unlike flying, gliding usually doesn't allow the character to gain or maintain altitude, but only slows its descent.
Goombas are common enemies in the Mario games.
Graffiti is the practice of painting, etching, stickering, pasting, or in any way marking public or private property with lettering or images for a variety of different ends. Depending on one's perspective, graffiti can be considered either art or vandalism.
Gravity is a physical phenomenon, specifically the mutual attraction between all objects in the universe. In a gaming setting, gravity determines the relationship between the player and the "ground," preventing the player or game objects from flying off into space, and hopefully acting in a predictable/realistic manner.
Greatest hits is a general term for re-releases of games which have sold a certain number of copies, as part of a program managed by the console manufacturer.
Hammer Bros. are a species of Koopa that throw hammers at plumbers.
Some games allow people to swim. Many, however, have water that hurts or kills the player when entered.
Any game that involves jumping on an enemy's head as an attack, such as in Super Mario Bros.
More effective than any hospital. These games let you heal damage; ranging from a black eye to a gunshot wound, just by having a snack.
Health is a value that gauges how much damage players can take in a game before they die or pass out. Also known as life in some games. Health is usually represented by a bar or a percentage instead of an exact amount. Found in most non sport games
Henchmen are the loyal grunts caught in between the player and the main antagonist. Without them every game would be nothing more than a boss battle.
Rooms that are either invisible or extremely hidden. Players are rewarded with health, easter eggs, weapons or traps.
In many games there is a ranking system, the players with the highest point value are listed in a "high score" table.
A hub is the central location from which a player can venture out into different areas of a game. It is often used as a clever way of masking loading between levels or worlds.
Humans are bipedal, sapient primates capable of abstract reasoning, language, and emotions.
Frozen water. Ice can be slippery and it can be fun for ice skating.
An Iconic concept of video games is the use of an idle animation for the players character, when during gameplay there's no control given. It's an example of emergent game design, and is used as a way to add depth to action characters.
Enemies in RPGs that are visible on the overworld map and that are engaged in combat when touched. Examples include Earthbound and Paper Mario.
Sending or receiving fake email inside a game.
