Overview
The name “Pathea” stems from the Greek word Pathos which means passion, and this is the core value of the studio. In Pathea, the employees have been selected not just based on their abilities, but also on how passionate they are for the games they are working with.
The company was founded in 2010 with the mission to make unique games based on new technology, new ideas, and user-engaging content with the ability to awake a passion for playing.
Pathea games began with the title Planet Explorers which was the world’s first smooth voxel-based RPG. Planet Explorers was both developed and self-published by Pathea and the game sold over 350.000 copies worldwide. The second game by Pathea was the celebrated title, My Time at Portia, an intriguing colorful open RPG game with strong elements of crafting and exploration. This game was under development for 3 years before it finally launched into early access in 2018 and full version in 2019. With the success of the past two games, Pathea has grown into a studio with over 150 employees and with a common goal of bringing passion into their games they have 2 new titles to be released in 2020. And who knows, maybe we will be lucky to see sequels to My Time at Portia and Planet Explorers in the future.
