Seriously...
For a while now I have used Giantbomb for video's and reviews but the news section has totally changed this. Theres multiple news stories per day which generate conversation in the news section, as well as being fast, up to date and well written. It also makes the forums so much more active (or so I believe).

Now I only use Giantbomb basically and my activity on the site has risen so much it's crazy. I believe that GB is easily the best video game site now - with the staff, bombcast, great news section, quick looks, video reviews, forums for everything and the overall wiki layout of the site... its actually unique, which is rare these days.

I think there are other threads celebrating the addition of Patrick to the GB crew.

I agree.  Not used to going to Giantbomb for news as much but they are not only timely, Patrick does some digging for a scoop that was never here before (and most other sites do not even do).  I was also a little concerned with how his personality would mesh with the other guys and be on the Bombcast and other features of the site as I wasn't really familiar with him, but I have been pleasantly surprised there.  He is a great addition to the staff.

I don't know that he's the best thing to happen to this site, but I'm super pleased that they brought him on board and that he has fit in so well. Both he and Alex have done a fine job of turning Giant Bomb's news section into an extremely strong facet of the site, I almost feel like I don't need to visit anywhere else.

I was just watching last night's TNT and I found out that Patrick likes Friday Night Lights.  There are now no words to describe my love for him.

I think his news articles can be a bit too opinionated to be "news" storys. GB is starting to feel like a blogger site.

He was getting harassed for some mediocre articles and news stories both on Giant Bomb and on his twitter.  He split right after patrick got here.  I'm glad honestly, he wasn't very good at writing.  Patrick is great and is all over the news.  

Yeah, Klepek is the best thing to happen to GB in the past year. His new stories are one of the best things about this site these days.

Its quick, exclusive and non-superfluous. Alex handling the news is great, too. He's a really good writer.

Every time I glance at his username for a fraction of a second (which is a lot these days when I'm skimming over topics), I keep thinking it says something about pickles.

Everyone here is acting like he actually reports news which he doesn't, he just writes overly wrong articles (most of the time on only half interesting topics) and now with Nicholson gone there's no one to pick up the slack on the news end. I thought Nicholson's articles were fine, only the snobbish wannabe-writing majors were getting uppity about his writing.

I have mixed feelings. Compared to Nicholson, he's pretty good. But he doesn't seem very self aware.

I didn't realize how much I started using GB more until I looked at my browser history to see only GB now really. I used to jump around different sites for different stories, but Patrick has gone above any of my expectations for him. And I agree that the forums are more active now. I just hope that GB does not grow too large, and I really like the personal feel of GB.

I like Alex more but the combo of him and Patrick has been pretty great.

He's awesome for doing what he does with the news, but I don't care for him too much on the Bombcast.  I prefer it being just Ryan, Jeff, Brad, and Vinny.
