I'm rather anticipating how competitive things get between ATI and nVidia this time around. The 6000s are only going to be a tweak of the existing architecture in the 5000s, so the performance increase isn't expected to be all that much (honestly sounds like they're shooting for refresh levels of performance improvement). This leaves a good opening for nVidia to make something more competitive and hopefully more efficient than the GTX 400s have been.
According to this, it will be a hybrid between the 5000 and 7000 architectures. The 7000 series will represent the first major architectural change since the 2000 series.
I would expect this refresh to have a stronger focus on Tesselation and other general compute functions, thats where the Fermi gear really pulls ahead which in the long term might give them longer legs.
